how old is gas in tank #2? sounds like lousy oily gas. white white smoke or blueish? white white sounds like heavy moisture. blue is oil

You are extremely lucky... if it won't start close to shore, the last thing you want is to get it started and then go out a long way on the water and have it quit on you!

ONLY of they have the same frame and engine cases.

It is oil injected and if it has been sitting for a long period of time the oil will seep into the intake. This is common on older watercraft. When you get it initially started it will make a huge cloud of smoke and take a few minutes to clear up( burning the excessive amount of oil)

Bad solenoid

It is fairly easy to change your starter bendix. Just start by disconnecting the battery cables. Then you will remove the bolts on the flywheel cover, which also hold the starter in place, and then just change the old part out with the new one.

50 to 1 that is 2.5 ounces to the gallon for pleasure riding 40 to 1 that is 3.2 ounces to the gallon for racing

kawasaki ultra 260's are only cooled by lake or sea water so if the water supply gets blocked then it will overheat ! did it definatly overheat or just loose power because the superchargers do sieze up due to damp air or the pully bearing , also the dipsticks on them sometimes shear off and lock the cogs ! does the engine still run up on a hose pipe ? also has the ski been left a long time not used without fogging the valves in the head ? this is my job so get back to me ( 30 yrs ) ..

Ask the dealer if this affects the warranty.

the oil injection unit on these skis can fail to test you will need to empty gas tank disconnect oil feed line to inlet manifold then make a mix of two stroke fuel to the correct ratio say 10 liters. poor in to tank and take ski for a run say 10 minutes let it rest and run again if problem persists it is possible you have leaking or blown crank case seals you will most likely need a professional to test for i have provided you a link for free shop manual

You may have leaking crank seals. If they leak they can cause air to mix with the fuel before it gets to the carb, causing the motor to rev high unexpectedly.

FPO is the fuel pump code. Need to replace the fuel pump.

this jet ski has over 300 hp so should go much faster than this , but now it does have a few features /items that others do not have , one feature in particular that comes to my mind after hearing your description is its smart learning operation mode , or simply refered to as SLO Mode its activated by operators choice of key , do you have a red/blk key or a blu/blk key in the dash ? since its engine is supercharged there are some other causes that could produce a power loss id consult a watercraft tech for more details as this machine is loaded with diag tech stuff to help a tech figure out whats wrong with it quickly
