to install the security program , you first have to go to control panel> programs and features > highlight the Kaspersky line/ s and uninstall the reason is in the installation guide where it says to uninstall all versions of Kaspersky first before the new version will install

As far as I know, Kaspersky is perfectly legal. It is one of the top virus scan programs. I would follow Kaspersky's advice and scan and clean as advised.

Yes I have used it for years. I also recommend the Kaspersky Rescue Disc. Download Kaspersky Rescue Disk 10 I found McAfee A little bit of a CPU hog. I use ZoneAlarm Firewall and Avast for Internet Security. The combination works out very good.
