The "Device" is the mp3 player. It should have come with an installation CD. Because this installation software was not installed, you are getting that message. If you have the CD, run it.

This is very curious, but Microsoft marks their website as a "dangerous download" website. I checked it out, and it seems to be just like any other mp3 manufacturer's website, and there didn't seem to be any harmful software for the Mambo Mano players. There is a driver download for pre-XP Windows systems, but that is all. The user's manual is useless and obviously translated from another language.

no once you formatted it u erased everything. u just have to try different usb slots and adapters to try and get your pc to recognize it

Lady, if you plug it in to the computer and double click on "my computer" (or "computer if it's vista) you should see a new drive. That drive is your player. You can copy and paste to it. Of course, if you are on a mac, see my advice for pappu.

jbudoff. you have to have headphones in to get the fm to work. the instructions are on the drive itself. again, if you are on a mac ... well, see above.

The videos need to be in .mMTV format, you need the disk it came with, their should be an mtv converter on it. It is the only .MTV converter that seams to work. After it is converted you can put it in any folder. To play the video, you have to hold down the menu button for a few seconds until it displays the function menu. Then choose the video function. A good tip is don't plug multiple mp3 players into your computer at the same time, i plugged in my old mp3 player and my mano at the same time, now the mano won't sync on my computer but it still syncs on other computers. Some mp3 players update drivers when they are plugged in and if 2 are plugged in at the same time you can mess up your drivers on your computer.

try restarting it. turn it off for a while and then turn it back on.
