I see this lots of times , the detergent tank will only mt in the low pressure mode of nozzle , this is the only way a siphion will develop inside the soap tank and then high pressure can be used later to wrinse the item off well using just water
If theres may be lime in it place it a night in a in a bowl of vinegar if you can open it there is maybe a porcelain ring or point inside thats broken may be there are spares for it but check the price between complet s and parts and make your choice,
Is the motor running? If not, did you check the starting capacitor?
Did you check motor windings for continuity? Did the pump seize? Is electricity reaching the unit - wire ok?
The test / reset buttons are for a Ground Fault Interrupter built into the cord / washer. This device will help prevent deadly electric shock in the event of a malfunction - it is the same technology used in "GFI" electrical outlets located in bathrooms, outdoors, basements, etc.
You should have this serviced - or replaced before using.
Good luck!
Hi there, if it's anything like my WV50 - which we use for the shower - you'll find that it clogs up after some time and needs to be cleaned out. I've created a video that shows you how to open the head of the unit and clean out any obstructions.
In our case as we use it for the shower, it tends to get clogged with hair, shampoo and conditioner. You may well find that as you use yours for floors that there is also a similar problem.
All the best and I hope the video helps.
Hi Stephen:
Don't know where you are, but in my location here in Canada, the local LORDCO parts store has a large selection of pressure washer accessories.
I'd suggest that you try to find a similar equipment supply retailer.
Cheers
Because the switch is broken and stuck in the "on" position. Until you fix it all you can do is plug it in and out for operation. If you are handy you can take the switch out, make the repair of the broken part, and reuse.
They wanted 35 dollars for the switch on my Karcher power washer. Yeah, right!
The cleaner is using too much electricity. Since you did not post any information about what make and model it is, it could be a motor or the heating coil if it uses those. Another thing could be if you have it on a GFI circuit.
You should know if the pump has not been frozen by winterperiod example a tear in the pump housing , second if its not so there will be a for shure a cuff kit for it but the most important question is how old is the pressure washer and is it in your Country maybe cheaper then in Europe in most cases then go ahead but K?rcher is in most cases the budget commercial machines to expensive to replace spare parts because the price instead of new pressure washers with more technical futures by it and again garantee on it.
But the expensive models are 1600 rpm machines and have brass pumphouses they are made for every day use. and will not suprice spontaneous the user with leakage . then its comes slowly , but if anybody is using a pressure washer 1 or 2 times in a year is it a surprise if its working , ALTO NILFISK is a brand 90% i can tell you it will not function anymore by lime in the bypass of the autostop. all this aside you should take care on your pumphouse
pump and gaskets and cuffs hose connector o rings and important casting seams of the pump housing and hose connection. inspect it thoroughly but succes.
I think there is hanging a by-pass (auto-stop) on lime after using it a long time can happen if after a long time before the first use the autostop or by-pass is a point where is placed mostly a microswitch that will standing in a open circuit state (activated and the spring is not strong enough to push the bypass back or i don know for shure if the material is ordinary steel or a phosphor bronze spring. but there is in much brands of pressure washers a lot of problems with that kind of technics if you use it not every 2 months 1 time then its giving problems the old models have a bypass only that the motor can run in non-load mode have the most pressure washers no problems, but there will be the problem with autostop / microswitch.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bm5XoFrAHyE
A bypass is by most pressure washers a plastic frame where is a microswitch inside look at this maybe you have luck if the spring is in good condition and only lime because the bypass have a broken spring most times the parts are expensive and in a complete cuff kit only , i am not a Karcher specialist only Kraenzle and Efco so i do not know how the service parts will going in your Country. succes
You can get a repair or rebuild kit for this pump at any store that sells Karcher. You need to have a torque wrench and a set of picks to remove the packing. Take the head off the pump and pull the packing and the valves. Replace them as the instructions show and then put the head back on.
Karcher pressure washers are very sensitive to over-winter freezing. The plastic parts break, and you have to replace all of the leaking parts.
You may be missing a locking tab, without seeing the thing apart next to the exploded parts view, it's really hard to tell. Search google for "karcher parts", and put in your model number...
Dear Sir,
I understand that the engine seem jammed. Removing the spark plug was a good idea. This indicates that the engine cannot turn.
The only reason I think this happens, because the pump is jammed.
If with some method you separate the engine from the pump, you will for sure find out if the pump is jammed. Also you can release the pressure from the pump, if you have access to its valves and remove them. So trying to pull the cord with no load from the pump is the next thing you should do, with a few methods I have explained.
Regards,
M.G.
