I had the same problem. I removed the spray part of the spray gun so I was on soap setting and I had water but when I reconnected the spray wand same thing. * I turned out to be a little bit of grit was in the nozzle. I cleaned out the grit and my spray cleaner worked without a problem.

This is normal. The high-pressure car washer has certain dangers. If the water column of his spray gun is aimed at people, it will stab people. I have a Karcher pressure washer w/ a 5hp Honda engine. It only will run while the choke is pulled out and only runs at about half the rpm's. When the choke is pushed in.. it coughs, sputters and shuts off. Can you tell me how to fix this....

None of these fixes works for me and the original poster, like me what he's saying is when he swaps the high pressure lance for the patio attachment it pulses on and off, but when that happens, you can swap back to high pressure lance and it's fine. This means it's the patio attachment not any valves or power source, I have the same problem

Hi I have the Same problem with my K5 tTy this it seem to have worked for me firstly I put the C clip in the vice and squeezed it to make a tighter fit then I put a cable tie on the end to keep the pressure on the clip I put the clip on from the back for better access

This is a rounded square. As long as the bolts are in the right place. The flange is just a mounting to connect engine to the pump drive. Or phone Karcher and query it. Clean water intake side. Usually there is a fine filter inside. Clean clogs on output side. Nozzle. Spray head.

Just bought one of these for $100 on craigslist with out knowing anything. After 5 mins of use the pressure was varying all over the place and the pump binding up to the point white clouds of smoke where coming from exhaust. After tons of online research w/o success I just figured I had nothing to loose so I tried my own fix and now I have over 3 hours of solid use stripping old paint from house with out a single issue. All I did was 1 ) Remove the black screw off tube pointing up on water pump. ( was caked with gritty oil deposits) cleaned out old oil. 2) Used red hot nail to put single hole threw center of top 3) Re- Install tube 4) Took a Manual 8" Multi Sports Ball Air Pump with Inflation Needle and removed the top to poor in Oil then re-sealed ( I used old Mobile 1 0/20 synthetic from my last oil change ) 5) Injected oil with pump threw center hole, you will feel the pressure build up and then feel and hear the oil rushing threw to the pump 6) I placed a Plastic Round Cap Roofing Nail threw the hole to help keep out water. Simple fix but it saved my $100 investment as the pump now is running strong with great pressure!

This will depend on where exactly it has broken on the inlet pipe and if Karcher sells the spare you need. Some inlet ports are 'screw-on' adapters and they can be swapped.

Isn't there a bleed off valve on the unit. Typically they get stuck and pulsing is the result.

The lance hose that attaches to the pressure washer keeps coming off when the power to the machine is turned on, i've only used this product four times since new in January this year.

Possibly water went into the motor are a new motor will now be required. Either way the motor sounds past its best.
