That sounds like a virus of some sort. You need to check & clean your drive! Don't boot with your USB plugged in, sometimes the error occurs just from being plugged in while booting. Try cleaning out your registry errors within your 'Registry Database.' If all else fails, restore to and earlier point.

It is nearly impossible to boot from external hard drive.  The main reason it that typically the computer need to have the OS loaded in order to support the external HD on the usb system.  My recommendation would be to return the external, purchase and internal and have a professional migrate your drive to the new one.

Which format fat32 or ntfs make sure its fat32 Indeed, FAT32 only supports files up to 4 GB. I ran into the same problem when copying an ~4.5 GB file to an 8 GB flash drive. There is a quicker solution that doesn't require you to reformat or lose data on the drive, using the command-line "convert" command. Suppose the flash drive is mounted to g:\. Open up a command window (start menu -> run -> cmd), and type: convert G: /FS:NTFS. Personally, I don't need the "security descriptors" on the flash drive file system, so I use the variant: convert G: /FS:NTFS /NoSecurity. The conversion should be very quick, and of course it has the benefit of not needing to move any files off the flash drive (since you don't need to reformat it). Hope this helps.

First, please disconnect all USB devices and then perform the following steps:

Click "Start" button, type "devmgmt.msc" (without quotation marks) in the "Search" bar and press "Enter". Click "Continue" if necessary.

In Device Manager, double click to expand "Universal Serial Bus controllers", right click on the Host Controller, click "Uninstall" and click "OK".

Repeat the step 2 to uninstall all items under "Universal Serial Bus controllers".

Then, restart your computer and Windows 7 will reinstall all USB controllers automatically.

for xp or earlier

click start right click on computer select properties device manager scroll down universal serial bus controllers you could see a yellow question / exclamation mark? ! or a red X

you will need to update/reinstall drivers

right click to reinstall drivers

if you can see your usb drive but its not working

ports (com&lpt) right click update driver if this fails to fix the problem

check the USB leads that attach to the motherboard usually red white green black make sure they are securely seated and have no dust build up on them dust will cause static and a lot of unforeseen problems to a computer and its parts

sounds like your pc is trying to boot from a disc drive without an operating system installed on it. I sometimes get this with my toshiba 1.5G external. Try turning off any non-booting drive connected to the machine and try again. If you don't have any external device connected then your system disc is either corrupt or dead and needs replacing or the operating system reinstalling.

How old is the duplicator? The company has two different manuals listed here: http://support.kanguru.com/index.php?action=file_library&folder=19 . The pdf version is for their current models: http://support.kanguru.com/download.php?FLIB=1&id=40 . A zip file contains the manuals for duplicators sold before 2009: http://support.kanguru.com/download.php?FLIB=1&id=42 . I suggest you try the manual for the older models first; the current models on the kanguru site have models numbers like U2-DVDDUPE-S1 .

Given the error code you provided it looks like you have corrupt hard drive. You can try reformatting the hard drive or just replacing it.

There is a good chance that your data is corrupted on that drive in which case you will probably want to recover it. TestDisk is a powerful and free open source software tool kit that can help you recover lost, deleted, corrupt data off your bad hard drive. You can also try to slave your corrupt hard drive to another computer and try to access it that way.

I would try to recover the data and replace the bad hard drive with a new one. I would try www.newegg.com or www.tirgerdirect.com for some good deals on hard drives.

USB drives can be write-protected by modifying the StoreageDevicePolicies Registry key and WriteProtect Registry value.
click Start>run>regedit to open Registry Editor. and press control+F to open the find dialogue box and type "usb device" or "driverdesc" to open usb mass storage device or type "usb mass storage device" in the search windows. And right click on it and delete. This will set the policy value to 0. then insert your usb device. It will work fine.
# Remember: do not delete any unknow files in the registry as this will make some programes not work as usual.

alsoIf you are running a Windows XP OS then you might be able to: - click start right click on my computer select open- Right click the icon of your Flash Drive (It should be F:/ or something) - Click Properties in the menu that comes up - Click the Sharing tab - Click permissions - And finally, click Allow next to Full Control.

you have to format your hard drive using a third party disc to erase everything on your hard drive

During the boot process you will see on the screen to press a certain key to enter setup

Press and hold that key during the boot up process to enter BIOS the scroll down to advanced bios features press enter change your first boot device to cd,press escape then press f10 to save to

cmos to restart

note this will erase you operating system you will have to have an operating system disk to load it onto you hard drive or create a partition to load another operating system

(note after you have loaded the operating system you must go back and change the first boot device to your hard drive)

you might need to restart your system..at times the HDD will install a couple of drivers which need the sys to reboot in order to work..

your question is bit confusing.. but if you have Winx Xp you need not setup anything. just plug in the USB cable & you will have the Drive showing in mycomputer

The bios is a piece of hardware. There is no data in your BIOS, it is all hard-wired. If your BIOS has an error, you would never be able to tell because the computer wouldn't be able to display the problem.
BIOS stands for Basic Input Output System, and that is what displays text on your computer.
If it is true that your BIOS is destroyed, there is no hope for the computer. It would be easier and less costly to buy a new one.
