Lock nut in engine
No it can't, I can't see it going any farther than the oil galley on top, those holes are usually small and the engine tilts to the rear. But I don't think it went with the oil, it went with gravity and is probably right under neath the missing nut. If it does drop down it will be lying in the pan, waiting for you to drop the pan and find it. Take a magnet down there and see if you can fish it out. Good luck.
