Descaling is there
Add water message on constantly
remove tank clean with hot water, rinse and shake you should hear a rattle in the bottom of the tank. if you dont the the small black float built into the tank side wall is stuck. once free it will work fine.
Cleaning cycle
The flap of the funnel has a piece of plastic that sticks out, which pushes on a microswitch under the top cover.. If the funnel is not seated correctly, it will not work the microswitch.. This will also apply if you try to use it with ground coffee. There are 2 switches side by side, the other is for the bean hopper cover.I suppose you could insert a small stick into the hole, and press towards the front of the machine.. it should have a distinctive click to it. if it works, then either the plastic piece on the ground coffee cover is broken, or the funnel is not seated correctly.. if it doesnt work, you need a new switch fitting.
Coffee Team GS not brewing
First of all check for the connections. Sometimes a wire is lose and gets pulled off from the button. If that is the case, its pretty easy to handle. You can tighten it by hand or use a soldering iron. If it doesn't work check for any motor, wire or button damage.
How to reset the grinder burrs?
I took the grinder apart and found to have to replace the two metal grinding tools (inside cone and outside ring. The parts for it were quite cheap. Just get yourself a proper instruction how to do it and follow it religiously. There are marks left by Jura engineers to calibrate the grinder assembly. Changing the actual grinder bits inside does not alter these if put together in the same position. The calibration is essential for a decent taste. After 7 years I would recommend a full service anyway. This will not be cheap, but all seals get replaced or just the brewing unit and the machine will be physically cleaned inside. Only a clean machine will give a decent taste. And the usual cleaning and de-scaling you can do is not enough to maintain a squeaky clean machine over the period of a few 1000 cups of coffee.
Disassemble ena 4
As far as I know the Jura machines have a special oval shape screw head on their panels...and Jura charge something outrageous like 150euro if you want to buy the tool for opening these! Mite be worth trying to open it some other way like by gluing a tool or something into the head and let it dry, then open it.... then maybe replace the oval head screw with a different screw type when reassembling. Not an easy method of getting past the problem but id sooner do it than pay for the tool!!Hope this helps
Need to dissassemble Jura Capresso C1500
I just opened up my Jura Capresso C1500 Machine. It's a little tricky, but here is how I did it. I gently pryed the front part of the top off. There is a tab connector in the very front of the oval in front center. Lift (or gently pry with a flat head screwdriver) straight up until it comes free. There are several other tabs that will lift straight up on both sides of the top. However, there are two tabs in the back (one on either side where you see the black pins protruding out the back top of the machine) that are encircled around the pins. The only way I could get those off was by gently prying until the tabs snapped off cleanly. I pryed the one on the right first, and it stayed intact except for breaking off the bottom of the circle; so it will actually still snap into place back over the pin. To free the left tab I simply lifted the lid up and down several times until it snapped off cleanly. There are so many other tabs that fit tightly into rectangle-shaped sockets that breaking the back two did not change my machine's appearance or function. Once the top was off, you can access a lot of its workings including the grinder, top water tube, spout, etc. I use dark beans that are slightly oily so I took off the bean compartment, silicone funnel ring, and attachments and cleaned them thoroughly with hot, soapy water. We found a pebble or two in our beans through the 8 years we have used it and I think they have done some damage on the grinder.
Filter change
this was absolutely the problem with my Jura Capressa E-8 machine. I followed instructions after changing the filter. I opened tap-machine stated that it was filling system- I closed tap when instruction. The open tap remained on because no water was filling system. I took the frother tip off and opened tap. Water filled system (container under frother). I closed tap without the frother tip. Machine Ready.... (I heated water in microwave for three minutes) I placed the frother tip in there and used a wooden skewer to ensure frother was clear of debris... Worked like a charm!
Jura capresso c3000 yellow clip
I found out where it goes, thanks to Juergen, who pointed me toward his
excellent page on Jura cleaning: see figure 7d, copied here
which shows the yellow clip helping to hold on the tea pipe. I'm guessing that if you don't use the tea pipe, you will be okay. Otherwise you can just put that clip back on next time you clean the machine.
