The flap of the funnel has a piece of plastic that sticks out, which pushes on a microswitch under the top cover.. If the funnel is not seated correctly, it will not work the microswitch.. This will also apply if you try to use it with ground coffee.There are 2 switches side by side, the other is for the bean hopper cover.I suppose you could insert a small stick into the hole, and press towards the front of the machine.. it should have a distinctive click to it. if it works, then either the plastic piece on the ground coffee cover is broken, or the funnel is not seated correctly.. if it doesnt work, you need a new switch fitting.

take it apart see if vents are clogged or a part broken

try and do a heavy duty de scale of the machine , put some descale directly into the tank, heat up ( de scale works better at high temp) select rinse, clean or flush programme. the vast majorty of probs. are due to limescale in the narrow pipe work.

Difficult to say without the machine in front of me. Normally you get this response if no beans fall into the grinder. Are your beans oily, sticking together and not falling in? Normally freshly roasted beans esp dark roasts are a bit oily. If so then you can change roasts, brands or mix with another type. You might try to adjust your grind per the manual. (turn knob inside the bin while the grinder is grinding) see #8 page 12. This sounds like the grinder is not strong enough to grind properly. Try adjust the grind to a bit coarser, if this makes no difference then the bearings inside the grinder may gone. Try only fill a small amount of beans in the container and see if it works. It may be that when there is too much of a load on it it will not spin the blades.
