The tap is the dial on the left turn it, then it will turn the tap off. If it is repeating this then it may need to be decalcified.

Tray empty message

If the machine says TRAY MISSING it's the contacts at the back so clean as other people have stated, you can also use a cardboard nail file to clean the contacts at the back if there really skanky!.

If the machine keeps saying EMPTY GROUNDS even though you have, pull out the tray, look just inside the aparture where the tray goes top right at the front there is a small slot where if you look closely you can see a small white micro switch. This will be probably gunged up with coffee and the switch will be stuck up, get a can of WD40 and squirt a small amount up into the switch then poke the switch with a small screwdriver up and down until it moves smoothly.

Then replace all the bits, sit down, look smug and have a coffee cos you've fixed it!! :0)

Error 6 for jura impressa z 5 ?

Error 6 means that the automatic ceramic valve having a problem reaching the right position. This is usually related to the main electronic board and there is a chance that this needs to be changed. There could be a possibility that the multivalve is broken, but if you can hear it turning when you start up the machine, it`s probably ok. Jura Capresso c1500..........'Service 8'

Used to get the Service 8 with increasing frequency until it almost froze up. Luckily I figured out an easy solution and my 5 year old refurbished C1500 with over 4000 coffees runs like brand new. Here's how:
Take out the grounds tray and reach in to pull back the flap up above where the grounds fall. There is a piston and cylinder thingy behind the flap kind of like a car piston. Take a wad of wet paper towel and shove it up there to clean it out. Then use a dry towel to dry it. Now the secret solution: Take a can of spray pam and point it at the piston and cylinder with the flap pulled back. Give it a couple good shots. Now you just need to get the machine to work that in between the piston and cylinder walls by running the rinse cycle until it frees up. You may have to run it a few times then unplug and let it cool for a couple hours and run it again. The motor overheats if the piston is really stuck so you need to let it cool down. Apparently this is lubricated at the factory with a FDA approved food grease from Dow Corning that needs to be replenished but hey no one is going to die from a little vegetable oil. Some day if it even hints at happening again (It has been 3 months now) I know what to do. Cheers!

EMPTY GROUNDS warning will not reset

The solution was referenced in one of the earlier postings but I wanted to clarify in case people are misunderstanding. The two metal contacts at the back of the machine insert into the wall of the machine and tell the coffee maker that the tray is inserted. Sometimes the big, flat, readily visible portion of these contacts get dirty and I think people are focusing on this portion of the contacts. However, the metal contacts also bend down into the tray where they can detect water (basically if there is enough water or material to conduct between the two contacts then the machine tells you to empty the try). This is the portion where you need to focus on cleaning, down in the tray, between the narrow plastic valley at the back of the tray. It will require Q-tips or something to really push down into the tray to clean away from the contacts. I did not have water in the tray but had enough moist old coffee grounds that it was causing the issue. I cleaned this area with water, a toothbrush and Q-tips and ensured it was very clean and dry. I have not seen the issue again in months (my coffee maker is three years old, gets used daily and we keep it relatively clean, but this is the first time we've gotten this error).

Impressa Jura J6 stays in empty tray mode

On my machine - J6 Capresso, the problem was caused by a crack on one side of the grounds scraper, a plastic paddle attached to the side of the brew group. The scraper is supposed to detect when the tray is full by not returning to the normal position and triggering a sensor that detects that the tray was emptied. When one side was cracked, the scraper was too weak to trigger the sensor. I replaced the scraper ($20 part), and that fixed the problem.

Tried to rinse with vinegar/water solution, and it worked 2 times, then went back to rinsing into the watse tray. Another problem kept popping up now too. 'Epmty Tray' displays, eventhought

fooo1-undefined-undefined-0_0.jpg this is a diagram of the drip tray & drip tray contacts for the Jura S-Series S Series Impressa S7, S7 Avantgarde, S8, S9, S9 Avantgarde, S90, S95, C3000 capresso 153, X70, X90, and XS90 One Touch Models. "EMPTY TRAY" or "EMPTY GROUNDS" (on other machines) is activated when the 2 metal contacts can complete an low volt electrical circuit through high waste water or wet caked-on coffee grounds. the area is marked in RED. careful examine this area and observe the obstruction and gunk and compare with bare clean black abs plastic. the gunk is dull and rough. use soft tools (toothpick, bamboo skewer) to scratch through the gunk. use warm water and soap and a low bristle height brush to thoroughly remove all buildup from this area. dry the metal contact and contacts area with a high percentage alcohol. visualize the insertion slots deep inside the machine (for the metal contacts marked 414) with a flashlight and verify that the female contact point pads have not been bent and are separate and distinct. the GREEN arrow indicates a thin black plastic finger-like protrusion. this finger (when the tray is inserted) will press against the "TRAY MISSING" small white relay switch deep inside the machine. use a flashlight to visualize the small switch. verify that the switch is securely mounted and clicks when depressed (up) using a soft tool (bamboo skewer) and note the sound. verify the finger is not damaged or chipped off. listen for the sound very carefully when the tray is fully inserted into the machine. if it is not these preliminary factors, the relay switch should be replaced.

When turned on it will prompt "Open Tap" "Close Tab"

There are two possible causes. One is easy the other is hard. So try the easy one first. Remove the grinds tray completely, and place you hand in the cavity that it normally takes up. moving you hand slowly in, feel towards the top. you will find a little flap, past that flap there is the tamper and coffee filter at a slight angle. This may be blocked, so clean with a cloth.
If that does not solve the problem (and 90% of the time it does) then you may have a small spec of dust that is stuck in the water system, this needs to be flushed and cleaned. The best place to do that is with a Jura approved center. Unless you are technically minded. Your local Jura chaps sound like they need a k!$k up their behind

Jura X7, is brew cycle, water does not dispense, comes out of drainage valve?

Have you descaled it regularly? Do you have hard water? Sounds like it's clogged with scale. Try running white vinegar and water through, see if that unclogs it.
