not if it never did it before when you draw off hot water , there is normally fresh water let in to keep the unit full this cold water hitting the boiling water will produce steam which is allowed to escape hence the noise.

You need a new drainage valve,while you change that you might as well change the orings on the brew group

Hi Jon, I'm Joel, Is this machine you have for a restaurant or private use. a friend bought a machine like this at Bed Bath & Beyond and his machine had a problem with the rinsing cycle and beyond, this machine has a motherboard inside just like a computer and it should have a reset button underneath it or in the back or it's possible that the motherboard is bad. To recycle the motherboard hit the reset button and wait till the machine to finish rebooting and pull the plug and wait about 5 minutes, if this doesn't work then you need to take back to the store for a replacement or refund, If you ask me I would rather have a refund because this particular machine always goes into a malfunction mode. This is one of the newer model so unfortunately the company didn't have time to get all the kinks out. Hope this helps....Joel

Yo James, I know nothing of your unit, but I've never let that stop me before??. Sounds like a sensor is stuck in the "tray full" position and popping an error message based upon what "it" is detecting. OK, how does the unit know from "full tray" (what ever that means). I'm a big believer in problems being created by dirt, crud and in your case, coffee grounds. Unless the sensor (switch?) itself has failed, I'll bet there is debris fouling the system. Find the "full tray" (what ever that means ??) sensing mechanism and clean/replace it and I'll bet you will solve the problem. All the best.
