Have you tried pulling gently on the thread coming up from the bobbin? If this doesn't give, the thread may be tangled around the mechanism (under the machine, where the bobbin fits). Open that section and you should see if there is excess thread wound around. Clear this, and when you put the machine back in place, gently hold the bobbin thread to assist in not having loose thread to tangle again. This sounds like my machine sounds when that happens to mine so I hope this fixes it.

Main shaft motor encoder defective Angle counter of needle UP detection has exceeded the value equivalent to 1.1 turns. Angle counter of needle DOWN detection has exceeded the value equivalent to 1.1 turns This unit appears to employ an optical encoder. It could be encoder has lint interfering with operations and cleaning the area surrounding the encoder may restore operation (do not use compressed air, light brush and vacuum. Otherwise service/repair.

Set the top tension to four. Now, if the bottom seems too loose go ahead and loosen the bobbin tension a little at a time. If your upper tension isn't real true at four you may have to slightly raise the tension control to offset this.

I wasnt able to locate the sv-500 but juki but from the others I read its a head position detect failure.

Disconnection of synchronizer connector

(no signal from head position synchronizer)

Check the synchronizer connector (CN33)

So likely a common cause is a connector for the cable that comes from head to control board.

The timing is off, you need the timing re-done!

Is that ASAP enough.

Also check that the lower bobbin is correctly inserted, holder and bobbin.

Hi there, since I know nothing about this sewing machine I can only say what I found which is this
http://www.szwalnicze.com/cat_ju_ins/juki-SC-20_SC-120.pdf

if you go to page 31 it is the only reference made to oil and a very vague one at that. But I did post it anyway because it may help you find the oil storage. Good luck

Hi,
If when you remove the needle plate, you may find that the hook is not rotating around the black bobbin case, then the probable cause is a broken gear.
Juki does not make the gear available as a replacement part. The machine must be sent to the Juki service center and there seems to only one left in the US.
Contact Juki and if you have the original box to ship it in they may pay part of the shipping cost.
I have had to do this, I hope you find a simpler solution.

I believe you can press the button, even when red, and it will advance one stitch? yes/no... I'm not sure.

You were able to bring bobbin thread to top?
