X band radar is not showing target echoes
If you have checked the magnetron current and it is normal, then the issue with the X band radar not showing target echoes could be due to a few reasons:
- Antenna: Check the antenna for any physical damage or corrosion. A damaged antenna can cause a weak signal or no signal at all. If the antenna is damaged, it may need to be replaced.
- Transceiver: Check the transceiver for any damage or malfunction. The transceiver is responsible for transmitting and receiving the radar signals. If it is not working properly, it may need to be repaired or replaced.
- Cabling: Check the cabling for any damage or loose connections. Faulty cabling can cause a weak signal or no signal at all. Make sure all connections are secure and the cabling is not damaged.
- Signal Processing Unit: Check the signal processing unit for any damage or malfunction. The signal processing unit is responsible for analyzing the radar signals and displaying the target echoes. If it is not working properly, it may need to be repaired or replaced.
If you are not comfortable troubleshooting the radar yourself, it may be best to contact a professional technician to diagnose and repair the issue.

To extend the antenna of your Jlu 121Potter, you need coax cable. You can follow the general system diagram which is in the manual to attach the extended antenna.
You can also follow "http://www.c-trak.net/ctrak/Downloads/JRC/GPS_Plotters/JLU-121/JLU-121b.pdf". for more information.
Hope this will help you. Good Luck.

Need to connect my J-NAV
This device if the manual is right uses an RS232 connection, what you are goiung to look for is a nine (9) pin connection it will look similar to your VGA connection on your computer. Do not connect the cable to your VGA connection, the nine pin connector will connect to the gps unit and the other end of the connector will connect or at least should connect to your computers com1 one connection or maybe the usb connection not sure. Should note that this unit has been dicontunued and the only manuals i could find were in Japanese which i don't speak, but that should be your connection.
Hope this helps
The antenna cable of JRC
I have the service manual for this GPS and it doesn't list the wire colors directly for the plug. This much I'm sure of:
RED-12 VOLTS (+)
BLACK-GROUND (-)
GREEN IS COMMON AND HOOKS TO CHASSIS OF GPS
THAT LEAVES THE BROWN AND YELLOW, BASED ON STANDARD DIN WIRE COLORS THE YELLOW IS LIKELY GPS OUPUT. HERE IS THE LINK TO THE SERVICE MANUAL. IF YOU OPEN UP THE UNIT THE WIRE COLORS SHOULD BE PRINTED ON THE CIRCUIT BOARD THAT THE PLUG IS ATTACHED TO.

Unit starts up runs throught
Hello,
the unit is having a software problem. The system file of the unit is corrupt that's why its misbehaving.
You need to update the unit using firmware update, this should repair the corrupt file(s).
After install the firmware of your GPS, the problem should be solved.
Good luck.
DSC hookup
It appears to have a computer interface,It uses an RS232C Interface, a small D9 Socket on unit, you need a specially wired cable, to talk to your unit, with GPS software, it sends out NEMA codes to the PC. You also need driver, and software, software at the least.

I looked but couldn't find a manual...
JRC 1000 MKII bearing pulse error on receiver
Normally the bearing pulse comes from the bearing pulse generator built inside the motor. Every time the motor turns it sends a pulse down the line showing the radar that it is indeed spinning. There is also a Heading pulse that comes from an electric eye elsewhere in the housing. The other thing could be that the wire carrying the bearing pulse is not getting back to the display. More so than often, it's the motor. I would have the display sent out to be checked on a simulator if there is a marine electronicshop nearby.
