Yep. Compatibility. But there is hope. Find the game icon. Right click it and click Properties...
Then click Compatibility. Once there check on 'Run as Administrator', then Ok. Try it again. If it still doesn't want to work then go back to the same windo and click 'Run Program in Compatability Mode for...' and select a previous version of Windows (XP SP3 for example). If that don't work push it back a little further and further until you find one that works.

If you are the computer administrator, try right-clicking on the game, then "Run as Administrator". If this works, then you can save yourself the hassle of doing this every time by doing this:

1) Right Click on Spellforce 2 and goto Properties. 2) click on Compatibility. 3) Click on Run this program as an Administrator.
If this doesn't work, you need to change your computer settings so that every program can be started with administrator privledges:

If you're trying to do this from a public place like a Library, this won't work.

had the same problem as you, right-click on "king.exe", properties, "compatibility" (hope it's called so even in english, have german vista ^^), set compatibility-mode on XP SP2, checkbock "resolution 640x480", "deactivate visual designs" and that thing with the DPI (don't know how to translate xD).It worked on my vista, hope it'll do it at yours too =)

Key has not been correctly entered. Do not enter any space anywhere in the key.
