Disconect shift linkage on 1999 model johnson 60 hp

Under the lower carb, you'll find the linkage connector. There is a screw, holding a lever on the shift lever ( coming from the SB side ). Unscrew a few urns and you'll be able to slide the lever to free the vertical shift rod. You'll gain better access with the removal of the air intake baffle and the lower carburettor.

Please can you tell me if a 115 Johnson outboard have gaskets in the heads as we have taken the heads off and it dose not have them.the model no HE11 5 s l e dr

Yes, but not like other 'standard' head gaskets. This engine generation uses simple O-rings as head gaskets...

How do you service lower unit on a 1989 Johnson outboard motor?

What do you need to do? It is easy to open the two screws to drain lower unit gear lube but drain into a container and not on the ground. I have a pump that I use to replace the lower unit lube. Pump hooks up to quart or larger size lube supply. I have seen U TUBE videos if you need instructions.

Need 1968 Johnson seahorse model 100 electro

Well, Johnson is out of business decades ago, so if you want to keep the old piece of junk, head on over to any Johnson junkyard or used parts place you can find and ask them if they have one. if not, ask if they will give you $5 bucks for yours, probably about what it is worth.

Where to find cylinder on 90 HP Johnson motor

This could be the trickiest question I have ever had to think hard about... I suggest you pull off the head (a few simple tools) and look in the cyclinder head. Then, whatever you do, keep all the parts in a baggie so when you take it to a mechanic he can figure out how to put it back together.

Hello . I would like to knoww the capacity go gas for a seashel striper 2600 walk around 1998 with 225 o/b Johnson

If you want to "knoww the capacity go gas" for that, I suggest you wait until the tank is empty (make sure you are close to shore though) and then tow it to a gas station. Then, insert your credit card and insert the nozzle, running it until the tank is full.

I have a 1991 johnson 4.0 deluxe 2 stroke outboard sn# B8438407 When i put it in gear it stalls plus i have to prime it to get it started. What can be the problem. Thanks Dan

Dan, it sounds like you have a fuel dilvery problem. First check and see if the vent tube to the gas tank is clear, then check the fuel line from tank to outboard for leaks. If these are ok you need to checkout your fuel pump and any in-line filter that you have. I don't know if your model is injected or carbs but if it's carbs, check fuel lines from pump to carbs for leaks and kinks. If all checks out it may be time to rebuild the carbs.

I am ready to purchase a boat with a 1990 Johnson 150 hp vro outboard motor. I have read that there may be an oil problem with this model and what the cost may be to correct it. Thanks Al

The following link may help you decide. It is a discussion of Variable Ratio Oiler vs Premix oil and fuel. There are arguments on both sides that you should read. https://www.thehulltruth.com/boating-forum/7389-oil-injection-premix-outboard.html This person likes the VRO, but has a list of maintenance requirements to keep it working well. With a 17 year old engine There are a lot of points of failure that need to be considered. If the VRO fails the engine self destructs. Keep your VRO. The Trailer Boats Magazine article in Feb 2000 has lots of good tips to keep your VRO running. Here is a short summary: Sediment and/or water can build up on the bottom of the oil tank. Draw a sample from the bottom with a turkey baster and squirt it into a jar. If it lookt like you have water and/or dirt, remove and drain the tank. Clean throughly, replace filter and purge/replace the oil line. This sounds like a good thing to do annually. Replace clear oil cap with black (#176217) Inspect all oil lines carefully ! If oil lines are more than a few years old (or are smooth vinyl) replace with 1/4" ID rubber (#333485). Avoid tie wraps and worm gear clamps in favor of OEM rachet clamps (#333654). Inspect all vaccuum lines carefully !! If more than a few years old, replace them. Inspect all fuel lines carefully !! Clogged filters, anti-siphon valves, kinked lines will cause problems. Install blue pulse limiter (#435009) to protect VRO from backfires. Don't run carbs dry as you will suck in too much oil ! There are lots more tips that are model year specific, so go to your local library.
