Pc turns on but no display on monitor
hi, need some help. when i turn my computer on i have lights and fans working, no beeps and no display.monitor is working fine with another comp. any ideas? thanks ... hawkeye.
Monitor problem
1 - Is the video lead plugged in fully ?
2 - is the power to the monitor supplied direct from the mains, or from the PC itself ?
3 - Have you tried the monitor on another PC ?
4 - Have you tried another monitor on your PC ?
Depending on answers from above - we can move forward from there..

I would look on ebay. A problem you might encounter is that all drives contain spots that can't be written to and each drive has these spots listed in the original circuit. So, if you use a board from another drive, you can imagine that it will be trying to read your drive like it would have read the original drive. You might want to research this more as I am remembering this info from research I did quite a while ago. My memory is a little foggy on it.
Jetway MoBo: 2 x 1GB Samsung PC2100 appearing as just 1GB (2 X512MB)
Hi,
Your post indicating that you are moving up from SDRAM to DDRAM shows that your motherboard is capable of either type (having both type of slots) and therefore would have been a few years old. Having said this, then your MB would have the very early version/compatibility of DDRAMs where/when 512 then was the highest readily available memory.
As most Taiwan manufacturers, Jetway would be publishing specs that are a bit just over rated in terms of their product performance unlike Asus, ABit, AOpen. Additionally, most have been known to be using the same manual for several versions of the motherboard. A similar looking motherboard can come in several versions such as those with internal video while another is an AGP slot; one versions may or may not have built-in Ethernet port. In the same token, a version may have 2 X SDRAM slots + 2 DDRAM slots or 4 X SDRAMs or 4 X DDRAMs. Again, we are talking of the same model number of the motherboard but different versions/revisions.
2 G would be right for the 4 X memory slots versions (at 4 X 512) but since you have the 2 + 2 (2 SDRAM + 2 DDRAM), maximum would only be 1 Gb (2 X 512).
Hope this be of additional help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
Good luck and kind regards.
Thank you for using FixYa.

Hi Patrick,
I see you're point. I know this, you can not run "more than" 512MB in any DIMM slot. That is shown at the bottom of page 10 & the top of page 11. You can not run both types of memory at the same time, even though the chart looks like you could. The description term on page 10, states; Users only can install either 168-pin SDRAM Module or 184-pin DDR DRAM Module at one time. (You can't run both). You can run 4x512MB in all banks using184-pin DDR SDRAM. Or you can run 4x512MB in all banks of 168-pin SDRAMs. Total of 2GB.
So you can not run 1GB of memory in any bank.

Pci slots not working
This sounds like it may be a physical motherboard issue. But before replacing the board I would download a bios update as well as a chipset update. install one then reboot and install the other. The memory issue could be because of the amount of video Ram your computer is using. I would suggest going into the BIOS which is a part of your computer that shows how much memory its using. You usually press either f2 or the delete button when the computer first comes on to get there. You have to press it repeatedly or it just goes past it and loads Windows. There should be a setting for video memory that says Video, or aperture or something similar. I would have to know the motherboard and computer model and manufacturer to know for sure. You should be able to change the amount of memory used which would not consume to much memory. As for the sound card and the PCI slot if the upgrade didn't work I would try another card in that slow to see if it's the slot or the card. If it's the slot you would have to replace the motherboard to fix it.
MEMORY DUMPING.....
go to safe mode(by pressing f8 before the OS loads ie at the starting of the system) and uninstall the software which you have recently installed due to that there is some conflict....
uninstalling that & by rebooting will solve your problem..
if problem persists then press f8 and select last known good configuration....
then it will work...
if problem persists then go to safe mode & give system restore to some previous date...
after system restore 99% it will surely work
...
but in 1% if problem persists then just reinstall the operating system.....
any doubts reply me
i am always here to assist you
thank you
bye...

Pen drive
pritz,
if the virus is of autorun category:
- then you should use your pen drive in that system which have allready installed an anti virus. Otherwise it will effect your system.
If the virus is not of autorun category then no problem.
- Just insert it into USB.
- Just close when the auto run windows appears.Don't open folder or any thing else.
- Goto My Computer
- Right click on pendrive icon.
- Select format and format using FAT, because some pendrive does only support FAT.
Thanks
Iqbal
Will not boot into Bios
hmmm... why dont you try to reinstall your OS...maybe there's something wrong with that..^ ^

sounds likie you m.b.r. Master Boot Record is corrupt. try clearing your cmos. use your jumpers on mb or remove coin battery and reinstall.
Primary IDE interface fails to load
many new motherboard does not recognize slave mode on if single ide drive connect
verify both drive set is master or not after that you attach to primary your harddrive and secondary cdrom
your reset problem is wirering connection see your motherboard manual

Sounds like an inverter problem. If the power supply is internal replace the capacitors coming out of the voltage regulators. These are usually 1000mf and/or 470mf. If that doesn't do the trick look up the numbers on the 8-pin chips that drive the secondary transformers on the inverter to see if they are getting the right voltages.
Good Luck!
