How to find hidden controlls on my jensen
Real easy. Put in a cd, hit setup on your remote. When the setup screen shows up, pressz 5,4,3,2,1,0 should come up with hiddend display to change DVD region Codes, Bypass your Parking Brake lock, and tft screen test (don't use tft screen test) it's a pain in the arse to shut it off.
Hooking up an amp
you need rca cables, an amp kit from your local audio shop(or walmart). make sure you know which wire is the remote from your radio as it will need to connect to the remote on your amp. most radios have the wiring diagram on top of the radio. Ground(black)/Power(from battery) and remote(typically blue from stereo.
Car audio installation
Either that or it gets + 12 V DC, you need to connect a low value 1000 ohm resistor in series, and use that to check, if it;s earthed -ve or taken to + 12 V DC.
How to by past the brakes wire for the dvd to play
According to the owner's manual, the pink wire is your parking brake wire and it has a label 'PRK SW' on it. It requires a negative signal to show that the parking brake is engaged. If it is currently hooked to your parking brake, you will need to trace it to where it is connected and remove it first. Be sure not to leave any wires exposed that can short out. Then connect the wire to a source of ground. this can be the black wire coming from the head unit, or a convenient screw nearby that is mounted to the vehicle chassis.
The manual can be found here:
http://www.crutchfield.com/S-x3LxzvPnGLv/p_110VM9312/Jensen-VM9312.htmlPlease note that it is likely illegal to have video playing where the driver is in view of it. Check your local laws before considering making this modification.
Jensen flip out head unit volume knob doesn't work
it needs to be serviced by jensen or some other repair facility. there is nothing you will be able to do to get the knob to work. if it plays cd's and not dvd's thats also an issue that you can't fix by yourself. if it doesn't play cd's or dvd's then you can TRY to run an optical cleaner through it. its a cd player cleaner kit you can get at most electronics stores.
Where does the remote wire hook up at
That goes to the remote turn-on terminal on an amplifier if you have one. That way when you turn on the head unit, the amp is powered up as well. If you don't have an amp, wrap any exposed wiring in that wire with electrical tape and tie it off - you won't need it.
Do you know the bypass for this radio vm9312
You can try the procedure for the VM9311TS model (the one I have) - I
don't know if it'll work but it's worth trying. Put in a DVD, and let
it start playing. Then hit STOP on the remote twice, and enter the code
1264. If you were able to see the actual movie
at this point, you'd see a menu pop up. Push down twice, then ENTER. At
this point the blue screen should clear and you should see the movie
itself. You'll have other options on that menu, like a macrovision
option to allow you to see burned DVDs. Set what you like, then on the remote, hit SYS SETUP twice to lock in your choices.
Have a jensen linear phase car receiver , there is
The pink wire is the safety wire so that you can not watch the screen (during a video) unless your car is in park. You can either connect it to a ground or completely bypass it by typing the code 543210 in the menu screen and turning the safety feature off.
Volume
Set the volume to the desired start up volume then hold the knob in for about thirty seconds. It should beep. The radio will then start at that volume everytime you start your car.
