Jensen Audio Players & Recorders - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support

Sorry that I have to be so general in answering this question. If there is a burnt smell associated with the occurrence of the problem, then that would point to a fault most likely in the audio output circuit. If the unit blows a fuse, then I tend to think that it is in the power supply of the internal amplifier. Either way, service is needed for the unit. It is best to disconnect the unit from your sound system and try to find someone qualified for this repair.

Does your Jensen have the AUX inputs on the back or front? You would need to find a Satelite radio with the Outputs that will plug into the AUX Inputs. Some radios have a special input connections for Satelite radios, so check the Manual.

if it is a powered sub you should lift the ground. you can do this by adding a three prong to two prong adapter. you know, like when you go to plug something in and the cord your plugging in has three prongs and the outlet your plugging in to only has two. it doesn't have the hole for the ground so you go get a little grey adapter that has three holes on one side and two prongs or tabs on the other.if that doesn't take the hum out (actually, is keeping the hum from getting in) you have a problem with the amplifier.

Flooding which occurred three years ago could not possibly still affect speaker wires. Have you checked all the connections? Did any of the speakers themselves get wet? Still, if you want to get new speaker wire, just take a short piece from the existing wire to a good electronics place to make sure and match the impedence. They're not "called" anything except speaker wire.
