Hi Check behind the cover at the back of your fridge.

The most common reason for this is that the fill valve for the ice maker is sticking slightly.The brown ice comes from the leaking water sitting there on either the kickout bar or the gears and you are getting some residual rust deposit.You will need to take the fill valve apart and clean it or possible replace it, I also recommend installing a water filter for the ice maker if you don\'t have one or replace the old one. Calcium deposits in water are real hard on these small valves.

are the cubes coming out of the unit? Sounds like the heating element is not activating, to release the cubes prior to refilling. Check electrical connections at the rear of the unit against the freezer wall that they are together. If ok then defrosting element may be defective, Replace unit.

Call the company,they will either mail you one or give you a website to download one.

Why not do a quick thaw and move the frozen goods over to the firdge for a few minutes and grab a blow dryer. This should give a temporary fix until you can pin point the problem. Be kind to me please with a Thumbs up. I am a long ways away and can only help a little. Raz

The easiest way to stop the ice maker in making ice is by raising the shut off arm.

Please check if the shut off arm can move freely.



Here are additional steps that you can apply to stop the ice production:

1. Raise the ice maker's shutoff arm until you hear a click and the arm stays in the up position. The ice maker will remain off until the shutoff arm is pushed down.

2. The shutoff arm is designed to automatically stop ice production when the ice bin is full. Using an ice bin other than the one designed for use with the refrigerator may not allow the shutoff arm to stop ice production.

3. Ensure that food packages, ice packs, etc. are not obstructing the wire shut off arm so it can move freely.

Check for blockage in the water line in the freezer. If so, defrost it. Might need a new water valve. Maybe a bad ice maker too.
Another possibility is that it's not cold enough in the freezer. Should be below +10F.
