Where can i buy a transmission fluid temperature sensor?

The transmission temperature sensor mounted on the overdrive/torque converter clutch solenoid assembly and provides input to the TCM. When the temperature sensor reports 30 degrees F or colder, there will be no overdrive, and below 50 degrees F, there will be no torque converterclutch. If thetransmission fluid temperature sensor reports an overheating condition (over 260 degrees F) and the transmission is currently in overdrive, the TCM will downshift to third gear. The TCM will also light the LED in the dash-mounted OD off switch until the temperature drops below 230 degrees F. However, the torque converter clutch may still be operational.

Ran codes on it, crank sensor is bad, how many blots do you have to remove to remove starter to get to the crank sensor?

If it's a 1999-2004 4.0 it's EASY!!! Go through the firewall under the dash it is EASY!! Here's how to do it: 1) Remove the plastic bottom panel directly under the gauges. It simply snaps up and out. 2) Locate the 4 10mm bolts that hold the lower plastic panel under the steering column and remove them along with a few phillips head screws as well to free up the panel. Remove. 3) Look behind the console and you will see a small plastic "L" shaped duct that blows air to your feet. Snap it out of its position and remove the phillips screw holding it from under/behind (or cut the plastic flange with a razorknife halfway if the screw is hard to get at - takes a shorty phillips screwdriver. This way you can still snap it back on.) 4) Pull the carpet back and tuck it under the gas pedal. 5) You will see an oval metal plate that the shifter cable runs through as it passes through the firewall. Remove the 2 10mm nuts and pull the plate back. 6) VIOLA! There is the crankshaft position sensor staring you right in the face through the hole in the firewall you have exposed! 7) Insert 11mm socket with extension and remove/replace bolt with ease.

More likely coolant from the heater lines or core. Pressurize the cooling system with the engine off and dive under the steering wheel with a flashlight. . .

A/C blows hot, not out of freon. What's the problem?

Watch the clutch on the compressor while the AC is on to see if it is engaged. There are pressure sensors, relays and fuses in concert that operate the clutch. A low pressure from an improper amount of freon will cause it too. It may start for a minute then stop to save the compressor from damage. Lots of things to check for proper operation.

Why am i getting a rattling sound from one front wheel in my car

I would guess that the wheel bearings have failed for the rattle and the burning smell is from the brakes trying to hold the wheel straight.

How do i adjust emergency brake cable on 2003 jeep liberty sport. qith 4 disc brake pads.

Remove rear wheels and the brake rotors. parking/Emegency brake shoes are inside these rotors. Check shoes if worn, replace them Your Emergency brake is self adjustable. OPERATION A hand operated lever in the passenger compartment is the main application device. The front cable is connected between the hand lever and the rear cables with an equalizer. The rear cables are connected to the actuating lever on each primary brake shoe. The levers are attached to the brake shoes by a pin either pressed into, or welded to the lever. A clip is used to secure the pin in the brake shoe. The pin allows each lever to pivot independently of the brake shoe. To apply the parking brakes, the hand lever is pulled upward. This pulls the rear brake shoe actuating levers forward, by means tensioner and cables. As the actuating lever is pulled forward, the parking brake strut (which is connected to both shoes), exerts a linear force against the secondary brake shoe. This action presses the secondary shoe into contact with the drum. Once the secondary shoe contacts the drum, force is exerted through the strut. This force is transferred through the strut to the primary brake shoe causing it to pivot into the drum as well. A gear type ratcheting mechanism is used to hold the lever in an applied position. Parking brake release is accomplished by the hand lever release button. A parking brake switch is mounted on the parking brake lever and is actuated by movement of the lever. The switch, which is in circuit with the red warning light in the dash, will illuminate the warning light whenever the parking brakes are applied. Parking brake is self-adjusting when the lever is pulled. The cable tensioner, once adjusted at the factory, should not need further adjustment under normal circumstances. REMOVAL
  1. Raise and support the vehicle.
  2. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.
  1. Remove the disc brake caliper.
  2. Remove the disc brake rotor.
Brake Shoe
  1. Disassemble the rear park brake shoes.
CLEANING - REAR DRUM IN HAT BRAKE Clean the individual brake components, including the support plate exterior, with a water dampened cloth or with brake cleaner. Do not use any other cleaning agents. Remove light rust and scale from the brake shoe contact pads on the support plate with fine sandpaper. INSPECTION - REAR DRUM IN HAT BRAKE As a general rule, riveted brake shoes should be replaced when worn to within 0.78 mm (1/32 inch) of the rivet heads. Bonded lining should be replaced when worn to a thickness of 1.6 mm (1/16 inch) . Brake Shoe Examine the lining contact pattern to determine if the shoes are bent or the drum is tapered. The lining should exhibit contact across its entire width. Shoes exhibiting contact only on one side should be replaced and the drum checked for runout or taper. Inspect the adjuster screw assembly. Replace the assembly if the star wheel or threads are damaged, or the components are severely rusted or corroded. Discard the brake springs and retainer components if worn, distorted or collapsed. Also replace the springs if a brake drag condition had occurred. Overheating will distort and weaken the springs. Inspect the brake shoe contact pads on the support plate, replace the support plate if any of the pads are worn or rusted through. Also replace the plate if it is bent or distorted. INSTALLATION NOTE: On a new vehicle or after parking brake lining replacement, it is recommended that the parking brake system be conditioned prior to use. This is done by making one stop, from 25 mph on dry pavement or concrete using light to moderate force on the parking brake lever.
  1. Reassemble the rear park brake shoes.
  2. Adjust the rear brake shoes.
  3. Install the disc brake rotor.
  4. Install the disc brake caliper.
  5. Install the tire and wheel assembly.
  6. Lower the vehicle.

Took negative cable off to clean terminal and when I went to replace it the alarm went off and jeep won't start

Remove the battery leads entirely and let it sit for 30 minutes. Then try to reseat the battery connectors with the key in the ignition switch turned to neutral. Most jeeps and newer cars with alarm systems have an ignition key with a special pass through fuse that completes a circuit that tells the computer module that the owner is in the vehicle and the alarm isn't needed.
