Mine was doing that the most likely reason is your lever located in the back of the scooter is probably in neutral. Mine would have everything brand new batteries all the lights everything was working except it wouldn't go and that's the reason the lever was in neutral. They will have a diagram showing you which one is in drive and neutral. Mine had to be pushed all the way down to be in drive once I've done that it worked perfect. Look for a lever with a colored handle and make sure it is in drive. That is most likely the problem

What brand name is the scale?

Depends in which type or model of equipment. Otherwise it could mean anything.

'power pack'? Do you mean the battery or the battery charger? Depending on the make, some are 12 volts, but some are 24 volts.And by 'run an 8 amp mobility charger for 8 hours' is also ambiguous. They are not normally capable of recalibration. You need a very special certified calibration weight. They are done at the factory and that is it. As long as the scale is on a flat level, firm surface they should be good. Full 'make model (what it is)' in all questions please.
