My Jeanie Rub machine is about 25 years old and

The chances are that some parts are worn, after all this time, or the motor is going bad, but you might get lucky. As far as taking the unit apart, you'll be hard pressed to find any directions. Best thing to do is just study the machine- everything that went together has a way to come apart, even if it has to be broken, which some things are designed to do, upon disassembly. However, most things can be taken apart with the right tools and patience. Look for screws or hidden fasteners under label plates and covers (some will snap off, as they are pressure fitted). Sometimes special tools are required or the fastener is impossible to take off without breaking something.
Sometimes it's best to get advice from someone who does this type of thing for a living- that is, a small engine repair shop. They could probably look at it and tell you what needs to be done, or at least what you need to do to get into it.
Anyway, good luck, study it well, and hopefully you'll be successful getting it fixed.

The cord on my massager is tearing. Can I get it

It kinda depends, You might be able to bring it to a store where they will repair it for a costly charge. If you are okay with working with your hands however, you can dismantle it yourself and just repair it yourself. How you would do that is, to take it apart screw by screw until you get the power supply out in the open and just wrap the wires that are torn with electrical tape and then just close it back up. MAKE SURE YOU UNPLUG THE UNIT IF WORKING ON IT

How to disassemble

There is an adhesive label on top of the unit. Use a single edge razor blade to lift the label from either side (left or right) until the two recessed hex nuts are exposed. You will need a 9mm socket to remove these hex nuts. Be careful as there is a 6mm jam nut at the base of the threaded rod that holds the rod against the top of the motor housing.Once you have removed the two hex nuts, be sure to save the tiny washers in a safe place. Once the handle is off, you might want to mark the black wire that is conected to the white wire to ensure that reassembly enables the proper connections.Once the handle is off, you can take a small pair of needle nose vice grips and squeeze the cord retainer to facilitate the removal of the handle completely after removing the wire nuts.Be sure all wire ends are marked to your approval. The jam nut on the threaded rod needs to be loosened in order to lift the motor housing off of the motor. Use only a drop or two of penetrating oil on the threaded rod. Attach the two hex nnts removed earlier at the top of the threaded rod to create a jam nut at the top, by tightening them together. Holding these with a wrench, use a 6mm open end wrench or tiny vice grips to loosen the jam nut. Be sure the 6mm jam nut freely moves to the top on each side.Remove all hex nuts and the motor housing can be lifted off.Be very careful not to let the motor tirn over or you may lose the springs.

You can take a sharp single edge razor blade and lift the adhesive label from the motor on either side, the left or the right just far enough to expose the hex nuts. Use a small 9mm socket to loosen the hex nuts enough to slide the cover out. Retighten the hex nuts. Use a strong glue like Gorilla glue to reattach the label.I sewed some "1-inch" wide elestic straps on each end to the cover to prevent it from sliding....that was over ten years ago and it works great.
