Javelin LC POS Touch system with no OS
Well you could remove the HDD from the POS, install it into a computer with a CD, remove the HDD currently in the computer, set the POS drive to the Primay Master, install Your OS and any other software (be carefull as to NOT format the POS drive, It may contain important files), remove the drive, reinstall it in the POS system, Put back the drive you removed from the computer.
Card does not read
Card readers build up magnrtic particles from the cards they read . u might try cleaning it with a blank card that has a rough surface/ladened with alcohol, or a very small q-tip ladened with alcohol to remove the dirt and magnetic residue. too much built up residue can cause, loss of reading ability, and lost sensitivity between the card and the reader.
Javelin
i had a hard tim loading my javelin but i had to use a laptop adapter that makes a laptop hard drive commect to a standerd pc ide cable and loaded it that way i just copyed the cd to the harddrive and put the harddrive back in the javelin and run setup off the hard drive
Clean install?
use a usb cd drive and set your computer bios to boot from the cd
Data compressor
There are Components available on net. You have to just download them, install on your system, and use it in your application. I doing same using delphi.

Javelin pos nic driver
YEAH SURE,, its quite easy actually
Go to the manufacture's web site if your main board or network card
in the support link, search your model device and download the driver for it..
of you can just pop any main board cd in for you and it should use the default driver as most is standered LET ME KONOW IF OU HAVE TROUBLE LOCATING IT ON THE PAGE OR IF IT AINT AVIABLE
Setup Touch Screen Under Windows XP
Go to:
Start>Control Panel>Add Hardware
Click "Yes, I have already connected the hardware"
Scroll to the very bottom and click "Add a new hardware device"
Click "Install the hardware that I manually select from a list"
Click "Ports (COM & LPT)"
Click "Communications Port"
Click "View or change resources for this hardware"
Find the I/Q and Range settings in BIOS for the Touch Screen
