Your recorder hangs up due to performing a heavy task. the system must be reset if the reset button did not solve the problem try to remove the battery after removing press and hold the pwer button for atleast 30 sec-to 1 minutes to drain the voltage supply present this will reset the system then return the battery and power on again.If this procedure did not work connect your recorder to a computer and browse the files you want to delete and erase it one by one.then restore default value.
again if that did not work you need to bring your unit to the service center the application program of your recorder is corrupted and need to be re install....good luck!

For a blank LCD screen, the troubleshooting section of the manual says you need 3 new or fully charged alkaline batteries AND you need to firmly connect all cables.

What you have described certainly sounds like a power issue. Any chance the batteries are installed backward? Have you tried 3 brand new alkaline batteries?

Like Steve stated. I would add to use a rust-converting primer (the type that converts surface rust into an invert primer, stopping all future rusting).

As this is only occurring in the left corner, I'd try to determine exactly where the water is coming from (that's causing the damage). I suppose it could be condensation if the unit is over ten years old, but it also possible that a connection slightly loose or worn.
