Try reducing thread tension.

Try a different bobbin

If no change, see "Cleaning the Hook Area" in your operators manual.

Inspect bobbin, bobbin holder and hook race for burrs. Especially if a needle broke just prior to the start of the problem.


Thread quality?... As a test, try using a different (new) thread, wind a bobbin with same new thread also.

Sounds like it needs a through professional cleaning. it either has some threads wrapped in somewhere, an accumulation of lint or just some mechanical parts that need some lubrication....most likely all 3.

Inside the machine there are many parts that have wires connected together. If one of them have been taken apart by accidental bumping it may cause this. By carefully opening up the machine and looking you may see the problem. However, touch yourself to some metal before messing with it. It is a better idea to let a pro take care of it.

take to a local repair shop

Check for a thread jam under the needle plate. Wait for the machine to cool after the overload. Your material may be too thick or heavy for the machine. I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

Most likely, but there's always a chance that it won't.. Depends on how many boards it has? Expensive fix in my eyes. Depends how much you love.. check out a used one and compare prices

Check the threading..sounds like 1 thread broke

Only once when my cousin broke mine. I cut a strip of aluminum and placed it under the break and taped it in place. Still there after 20 plus years.
