Janome mb4

You may have already got it fixed or just don't use needle #1. If you have hit a hoop it will cause this. Take the front cover and top off the machine. At the top of the 4 needle bars there is a screw. Look to see if the screw on needle #1 is lower than the rest. You should be able to compare with the other 3 needle bars. Loosen this screw and slide it back up even with the others. This lets the needle bar go lower and hopefully this will fix your problem.

Model mc9000. Needle moves manually. Why not automatically when machine started?

Do you mean that the needle goes up and down when you turn the hand wheel but not when you step on the pedal? In that case, your machine needs a new motor belt. I've seen some of these listed at E-bay. The service manual is available from ManualsLib, https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1075981/Janome-Memory-Craft-9000.html#manual . To remove the belt unit cover, see https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1075981/Janome-Memory-Craft-9000.html?page=4 . The belt is shown here: https://www.manualslib.com/manual/1075981/Janome-Memory-Craft-9000.html?page=18#manual . Warning: since this is a computerized sewing machine, you should have the service done by a sewing machine repair person. There are parts of the machine that may still be energized and touching the wrong spot could damage the machine. If you are skilled with this type of work, you can ignore the warning. I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

I have a Janome sewing machine model J3-24 Does it need to be oiled. there IS no advice in the manual which came with the machine. My previous sewing machine needed regular oiling.

If the manual doesn't call for oiling the machine, then the sewing machine has sealed bearings that do not need additional lubricant. Most computerized sewing machines do not need oiling by the user. I hope this helps. Cindy Wells

On the Janome MC 9000

To calibrate the touch screen

1. Turn off
2. on Sewing arm above needle there are a series of buttons
3. Hold down bottom 3 buttons
4. While holding turn on machine
5. Using scribe
6. Touch the centre of each + as it appears
7. It will go Centre bottom rh centre top lh as you select each + position it moves of it's own accord.
8. Turn off machine
9 Turn on and test.

Important sometimes this does not entirely fix prob!!
Simply do it again "Yahoo""
Some mechanics will try to tell U the screen is on it's way out
Bollocks just calibrate.
Thanks

I have a COMPACT JANOME sewing machine about 25

I also have this model Angela and looking for a manual too though mine has the number 740881. Hopefully someone will come up with something for both of us. I've tried the Janome site and it doesn't have anything for the 694 - maybe it's getting too old like us.

I set up my brand new 2212 Janome and I can wind the bobbin, but with straight sewing the needle just stays in one place and eventually breaks. I bought it through Amazon and I might return it.

Be sure the needle is fully inserted and secured in the needle holder.

Thread according to machine instructions. Manually rotate handwheel to bring bottom thread to top. There should no interference of the needle and the rotary hook. If you don't fully insert the needle it may strike the hook.

My Janome M7 has stopped sewing due to an "overload." I have cleaned, changed needle, turned machine off for a minute, unplugged it, plugged back in, and turned back on. What else might I do?

It is a good idea to take the bobbin out and turn the hand wheel. Monitor the turning hook that goes around. See if there is threads or fabric stuck. Make sure the hook isn't cocked. The hook goes around in an indented area called the race.Make sure you put one drop of oil on the race. After this turn the hand wheel and try to notice if there is any changes to the resistance. If not you may need to talk with a professional for repair.
