Remote Control Battery Replacement

To replace the battery, remove the two screws on back of the
remote and disassemble. It is a "Button" type battery not sure what the number is but look at the battery and find the number on it and replace it with the same style battery

I have Jamo E8sub need

hi,
the ic lm3886 should have voltage at its pin 1 and 5 , because it is the vdd supply pin of that ic. trace out, to where the track goes from pin 1and 5. it should go to the power supply or to any switching circuit. may be problem with its power supply side . any one of the voltage is missing. check the voltage regulators if there. check the power supply side i think complaint lies there. no need to replace the main board . from ur narration i think u have knowledge in electronics. make one more try to solve the problem.
ok

What do the phase and cut off controls do,manual

Phase reverses the polarity of the driver so it can be matched to the other speakers and bass-reinforcement characteristics of its position in the room. You don't want the sub 'sucking in' while other speakers are 'pushing out' or a bass cancellation will occur.

Set it, listen to bass from your normal seating position, reverse it and observe if the bass gets subjectively better. Leave it in the 'better' position.

Cutoff is a variable for the highest frequency where the speaker 'cuts off'. You can experiment with adjusting it for what sounds to you like the smoothest transition betwen the sub and the othere speakers. You don't want a lot of audible overlap where the sub and other speakers are acting on the same frequencies. It may sound to bassy in that area.

I have a Jamo SW-410E

The unit has to be opened and checked for blown or bulged capacitor. If that is all ok then yes the transformer is to be replaced. The other possibility is blown AMP .It has to be checked with meter and confirmed.

Thanks. Keep updated for any more query. You can rate this solution and show your appreciation.

I need to power-cycle the

This speaker system is described as consisting of "passive" satellite speakers with an "active" subwoofer. Passive means they require an external amplifier to work - and conversely active means there is a built in amplifier. To "power cycle the board" simply disconnect the power cord for a couple minutes (allows capacitors in the circuit to discharge) and plug back in. That's it.

Good luck!

Jamo dvr 50 buzzing/crackle from speakers after repair

Guess it would be cheaper to buy the DVR-60 , og DVR-70. I recall having seen good publicity on the dvr-60, but guess it would be hard to get your hands on that one. I have found the dvr-70 at the price of aprox. 200£. If you change the "motherboard", it will probebly brake down again, en just as expencive. I believe the cabinet is overheating do to lack of aircirculation, when you open it, there is no dust to be found at all...

Hi again Ray

Not sure what happened... I was about to tell you that some models of gear do not make it down under...

If you wish to pursue the fruitless quest for a board that can be simply repaired.... the Jamo distributor UK contack numbers can be found here.

I would have been able to assist you with repairs to the board, if you had some knowledge of electronics for me to work with. I suggest that you contact them direct and enquire as to the warranty temrs for the gear. You left the call before I was able to
tell you that they have 3 years warranty here in Au...

Good luck.... thanks NOT for your patience.
