I have removed all the water pipes from the thermostat housing and a long bolt but the ousing seems difficult to coe loose for my Jaguar 2.2 Diesel?

It's not unusual for a thermostat housing to get stuck in place. Try tapping it sideways with a hammer (gently) from different positions to loosen the bond, or stick a screwdriver in a bolt hole and see if you can lever it off (again, gently). Plan B would be to get a sharp utility knife and try to work it into the gap between the housing and the engine. IMPORTANT NOTE: Be sure to remove ALL old gasket, sealant, etc., from the mating surfaces before installing the new gasket. Otherwise, it will leak. Don't use a sharp object like a screwdriver, because any gouges will cause leaks -- try a putty knife, plastic scraper, stiff brush, specialized gasket scraping tool or nasty chemical (gasket remover, mineral spirits, lacquer thinner, etc.)

I have a 2010 Jaguar XK and it feels like the rack & pinion is a little too tight, is it possible to loosen it a bit. At slower speeds, it doesn't want to go back straight. Thank you

i really doubt it is the rack and pinion. I will not work on Euro cars but work on American and Asian cars frequently. Check tire pressures first. There is usually a sticker in the driver door jamb in the US that tells the psi recommended for tire pressures. Then try to drive another similar one at a used car lot. if ok then jack up car and put jack stands under it and lower onto the stands or bring to a professional that knows how to be safe as this is dangerous. The ball joints and strut mounts need to be able to turn smoothly. If alignment is off then the steering wheel will not return properly. That can be a caster problem from a bent control arm or strut or misadjustment.

Just recently got a jaguar xj6 wouldn't start replaced coil and now it starts but when I put it in drive it diesels and dies, sounds like its sucking air and I do t have book to look up vacuum lines some aren't hooked up

Leaking or missing vacuum lines can definitely make an engine die or run poorly. In my experience, once you've unhooked an old, hard rubber line, it probably won't seal properly when you hook it up again. So I suggest changing all the lines that you can reach. Also, there's usually a big vacuum line to the power brake booster, which can leak a LOT of air if it gets hard and doesn't seal properly. The cruise control motor, which is vacuum operated, is another place to check. Also, check the vacuum line(s) to the PCV valve and the rubber seal that it sits in -- again, a likely source of leaks. Any idea why the previous owner disconnected some of the lines? If he was trying to solve a problem, it may still be there when you replace the lines, and had nothing to do with them.

I need to know the location of cooling system thermostat for Jaguar X-Type 22D

Where the top radiator hose goes to the engine, under that flange that is bolted to the intake that the top hose is hooked to is where you'll find said thermostat. Drain the coolant before removing those bolts to replace it. Clean everything well and put a new gasket on, put the goose neck casting back in place and tighten the bolts. Replace the coolant and done.

I have a a jag XF 2012 with a DSC not available sign on, abs fault and an EBD fault displayed on my dashboard. Please weong with the car?

Get your vehicle checked by a Good mechanic as soon as possible!!! EBD Translates as 'Electronic Brakeforce Distribution'. This means there is a problem with your brakes or the electronics controlling them. EBD is part of your Antilock Braking System. It could be as simple as a faulty sensor or something more serious such as a failed brake caliper.

2009 Jaguar XF Supercharged my Check Fuel Filler Gap light is on. I purchased a jaguar gas gap from a jaguar dealer. I also had a DTML pump replaced about 2 weeks ago. What could it be? Thanks.

You must have a fuel tank leak test performed, there are many reasons other than a gas cap that can cause this.

Pls need gap for spark plugs for 2004 Jaguar xj8

The correct spark plug for both the normally aspirated AJ33 and AJ34 and supercharged AJ33S and AJ34S 4.2L engines is Jaguar part number AJ8 4575, which is made by NGK and is their part number IFR5N10 (7866). This is an iridium electrode plug and the gap specified by Jaguar is 0.9mm-1.0mm (0.035-0.039 in.).

Hi can anyone tell me where I find the glow plugs on my diesel x type 2.2 Jaguar 06 please

I think the 2006 X Type uses the Ford Duratec diesel engine. This is used in several different vehicles including the Ford Transit. The plugs are usually located on the intake side of the engine. This engine usually has them under the injector rail, tucked behind the intake manifold. You'll need to remove the intake manifold and the EGR unit to get to them. I've attached a video for the 2.4 Transit engine as the layout is basically the same. Hope this helps. https://youtu.be/ULbVv8midXg
