My B and D BL5000 blender doesn't stop when I press the STOP button. The motor goes when the cord is plugged in. Is this repairable? How? I have looked at the screws to get at it

The solution is to hold the blender in the palm of your dominant hand, press the low or high button and hold, then push and release the lock button on top with a finger on your other hand. The blender motor should start as soon as you push the lock button down and stay running until you release the high or low button.
