If the battery is good and you have verified that then the phone is most likely defective. Batteries are cheap try replacing it and performing a factory reset.
There's been water damage. Maybe from actual water coming in, contact with it or from you using it in damp places like the shower. What I would suggest is that you try to see if you had get the same result when you're using your headphones and microphone. If it works better with headphones than there's probably moisture on the receiver. If this is the case a bag of rice will always dry out your phone. Put it in a plastic bag with rice sealed shut maybe with two or three bags to make sure the rice is able to draw the moisture out of the phone.
Remember that Apple changed the cable that them devices uses. Since iPhone 5, the apple devices uses the lightning cord. As you say, the hype power stick 2200Mph cord is the old cable of 30-pin. You'll need an adapter or maybe another cord.
Here you have an adapter certified by apple:
Lightning to 30 pin Adapter
Here you have an lightning cable that will work for you:

Hello Lawrence Gray,
I'm delighted to say (I LOVE good security)...
According to Apple Corporation's last POSITION to the
JUSTICE DEPARTMENT... You don't.
No way (there actually is a way but it involves some serious hardware intrusion... (highly skilled & sacrificing the phone
(certainly a costly bit of programming & an additional capital investment... well beyond the price of your phone))...!!
The US government took most of a year to do it... they probably couldn't pour "liquid" out of a boot... if the directions were on the heel (programmatically speaking (opinion))...
However... they got there (allegedly).
Probably not what you had in mind.
Take it back to the owner...
Else: Your option is to get the phone RESTORE as NEW
(RE-Sync).
Then you can rebuild the data from the BACK-UP
you created in the PAST... (like iCloud)
Else: SET is aside until we master time travel...
So you can do that SYNC you always wanted... as for me I'll be selling yahoo (before the crash (I'm just saying)).
