You should use a soft, lint free rag, such as a duster, never use any detergents etc as this can remove the coating on the screen.

If you have a mark that won't go, then a lightly damp lint free rag, then the dry rag.

Never rub hard.

Have you tried looking at you Picture settings on your TV to see if you have possibly changed the aspect ratio. There also may be a button on your remote to change it on the fly, possibly saying "aspect". It changes really easily when you accidentally lean on the remote. I do it all the time.

if you're able to re-flash the firmware, it should help you alot. usually the problem started because of the lamp unit in the back light.
