In Microwave Ovens - Page 5 - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support
I have a boxed stouffers lasagna how long do I cook it for in my nu wave oven
Most food cooking directions are based upon a 1100 watt microwave oven output..
Since you didnt specify, I am guessing you have a 700 watt oven
You can roughly adapt cooking directions by multiplying times 1.6.
So if directions say 6 1/2 minutes at 1100w, cook for 10 minutes 24 seconds, or 10.4.minutes [roughly]
Here is a list of other oven powers
600. 1.8 times
700 1.6 times
800 1.4 times
900 1.2 times
1000 1.1 times
Of course, this is only a rough scale, microwave cooking times always vary from machine to machine. Always pay close attention when cooking.
REPLACING MAGNETRON IN
KitchenAid MICROWAVE MODEL KBMC147. IS IT DIFFICULT OR DANGEROUS? hOW CAN I DIAGNOSE THE HIGH VOLTAGE CAPACITOR
Replacing the magnetron of most microwave ovens is a fairly straightforward nut and bolt task, however the testing and diagnosis of the high voltage system is beyond the scope of the handyman or diy-er as the voltages present far outstrip the capacity of multimeters and are potentially lethal.
The high voltage capacitor is generally fitted with a discharge resistor, without which the capacitor could retain a dangerous charge for a long time. It is best to proceed as if the capacitor has retained a charge and carefully short the terminals with a well insulated screwdriver or test lead before handling any of the components.
Once the system has been made safe, there are ohm meter checks that can be made to help guesstimate the condition of the components. I suggest you search YouTube for guidance in this.
