When looking at the front of the unit. The metal grill has 4 crimped tension points on top, 4 on the bottom, and 2 on each side (total of 12). Use a small flat screwdriver to gently pry them forward, I just gently pulled on the top four, starting at one end and working towards the other. Then gently lift the grill off. Then there are 8 P1 (#1 Phillips) screws on the front. There are also 2 Phillips screws on the bottom, 1 under each of the rubbery feet. Once they are all removed (10 screws in total) the unit simply opens in 2 halves. Hope this helps.

Please make sure that you have put the speakers into the correct ports on the back of the home theater. usually it's labeled W or SW for the subwoofer, FR and FL for the front left and right and RR and RL for the rear right and left.
Now if that does not work still then you would want to check the wires going into the speaker and make sure that it's plugged in all the way on both ends and you may have to splice the wire and make sure that the copper is reaching the inside of the port on the back of the speaker.
If you've already checked that and the sound is not working then there's a problem with the board where the speaker ports are and that would have to be repaired.
