I cant get the strobe to fire. i cant even fire it
This can be many things like the cord is bad, maybe a bit of corrosion on one of the ends or your hot-shoe is not connected all the way on the camera? Send back to Ikelite, if it's bad they will fix or replace.Ikelite50 W 33rd St.Indianapolis, IN 46208317-923-4523

I have purchased an Ikelite
akdenny,
have an af35 myself and know from experience the issue is very likely to be the way you have the block out for the cameras flash. if you block it by having the tape inside the housing it confuses the af35 to fire at a higher setting. from what i can gather it senses the strength of the camera flash and adjusts. I get the best results with the blockout on the camera supplied diffuser, stops the flash camera going forward and gives plenty of light to get the af35 to fire right. to blockout i just use some black tape , fabric tape seems to stick well.
you will still need to set the auto level setting.
hope it works out, i find it a great flash.
and the guys at ikelite very very helpful.
Tried my new Ikelite AF35
Sounds like an O-Ring problem, you need to use a bit of silicon when closing and O-Ring should be removed and cleaned after every dive. If the flash isn't working, you will have to send it in for service. Here is the address;Ikelite50 W 33rd St. Indianapolis, IN 46208317-923-4523
