I forgot my passcode and i need to unlock my Htc tilt phone.

You should reset it using Hard Reset. You will lose all your data but hopefully you have recently synced it to your computer then you can just restore all the information. To Hard Reset you press in the button on the bottom of the phone next to the USB connector with the stylus, then press the two selector keys QUICKLY after you do that and when it tells you it's going to erase everything let go and press the Send button.

The unit does not switch off and the screen

Firstly, go to 'Start > Settings > System tab > Backlight'. There, in one or more of the tabs, you will find checkboxes named 'Turn off backlight if device is not used for', next to a dropdown menu representing the timeout value, for operation both under battery and external power sources.
However if you find these settings to be correct, and, yet, your device refuses to follow them, I think something you have installed might have messed them up. Perhaps a hard reset would fix your problems. A hard reset will restore your device to its factory defaults, i.e. all the programs you have installed, as well as your personal data, will be cleared. So, if possible, make a backup, to be restored afterwards.
If your device is operational, you can hard reset it by going to 'Start > Settings > System tab > Clear Storage', type in '1234' and, then, tap 'Yes'
However, if you are e.g. stuck in the splash screen phase, you can still hard reset your device by hardware means: press and hold both softkeys (the ones marked with '-',) and, then, whilst keeping them pressed, briefly press the reset pin with the stylus pen. Release the softkeys only when instructions come up on-screen. Press the green Send/Call button to confirm the procedure.
Hope you are able to sort your problems out.
Cheers! Carlos

My TyTnII won't go past the windows mobile screen.

I'm afraid you'll have to hard reset your device, in order to get rid of such a condition. You might already know that a hard reset will restore your device to its factory defaults, thus removing all the programs installed by the user, as well as his/her personal data, but I don't see any other way to try to solve your problems.
To perform a hard reset, press and hold both the left and right softkeys, and, at the same time, briefly press the reset pin with the stylus pen. Release the softkeys only when a warning message comes up on the screen. Press the green call button to confirm the hard reset procedure.
Hope it works for you.

Can't read sim card

Have you used this SIM card in another phone?

Some cell phones have trouble reading SIM cards that have been used in other phones. (Example: The Samsung Jack may not be able to read a SIM card that has been used in a previous Samsung BlackJack model.) I run in to this problem almost daily with my customers.

Your HTC phone probably has the same problem. To correct it, you'll need to purchase a new SIM card (you can get one on eBay for the least amount of money) and contact your cellular provider. Tell them you have a defective SIM - that you purchased a new SIM card and you need your account switched to the new SIM card.

After you give them your new SIM card number, it will take about 15 seconds and the new SIM will be ready to use in your HTC TyTN.

Touch screen not working...

Hi guys,

i post this solution for those wo will be in the same situation in th next future. I had the same problem with my HTC TyTN (Herm 200). The touch-screen was simply not working. I read many 'solutions' on the net but none worked. I did not try the hard-reset because i was convinced this is not a software problem, and resetting the WM5 will not help. So i brushed the corners, looked for small particles which were pressing on the cover of the touch screen. but it did not work. finally i found one post (i don't remember where exactly) where a guy used a credit card and pushed it all around the touch-screen under the metal case (a bit harder). i tried it and it worked. i pressed harder especially in the lower part, above the buttons. and simply it worked ! no problem since then.
