Cartridge error:remove cartridge and reinsert

Forgive me for asking this, but roughly speaking about 80 to 95% of problems involving ink or toner are resolved by the following:
Are you using a factory new ink cartridge supplied by the manufacturer of the printer?
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
If you are using the manufacturer’s new ink cartridges, then please contact their technical support group. Factory new cartridges usually have warranties on them.

I get broken gear in my hp officejet pro 8500a

Someone pulled hard on jammed paper to remove it from the printer. This has broken the small plastic paper advancing gear on the left-hand side of the printer (have seen this mistake a number of times). The printer is broken and cannot be fixed, and it is time to purchase a new one. What you and everyone needs to learn from this is to NEVER pull hard to remove paper out of your printer. Be careful, and open the access doors to get to it. We would suggest that you upgrade to an HP 8600 series printer and if you print more than 500 pages per month you purchase an AdaptiveInk continuous ink supply system (CISS).
