Hi

A couple of times this has happened to me and it is to do with the access port at the back of the printer ie it has a lock - unlock symbol on it and a circular handle. Make sure that this is firmly in the locked position. Note that it may seem to be in the locked position but often there is a little bit more it will go ... though dont force it so that it breaks ... try unlocking and firmly locking a couple of times, each time testing the on button. Like I said this has worked for me before

Try to reset the factory settings: Go to Settings tab and press the Resets option. This will change all the settings to default factory settings. Try to print using another OS and check if there is a difference in the print quality. Try to print in draft mode and in FastRes 1200 mode. Did you press "ok" or "start" after you reloaded the paper? If so, turn off the printer, unplug it from the power source for a few minutes and then plug back in and turn it on again. That should help.

uninstall the reinstall the driver for the printer from the HP web site for that printer and the win operating system you are using

Is it a legit HP ink cartridge? I have had a few knockoffs fail to be recognized in my printer. Seems like the printer companies are getting wise to the knock off brands

Possible cable problems. Also mine shows offline if the power button on the printer is off

unplug the USB lead and plug it back in...if no response try another USB port, if still no response use a different lead or put a gentle bend in the one you have to make the connection tighter....make sure the printer is on of course

My HP Deskjet 6940 is not printing. The color (left) low ink light is dark and the black (right) low ink light is flashing. I replaced the black ink cartridge with a new one but the low ink light continues to flash. No tears/rips in the circuit strip and all the copper leads appear to be connected

go online to Hp webpage, download the driver and install it. it will fix your problem.

Hi It sounds like a good chance the black has blocked it does not take much just things like leaving the cartridge out for a bit or it can also take a bit to get a new cartridge working. I would recommend you try to do a head clean it uses a lot of ink doing this but sometimes there is no choice. In settings you should be able to do only black option. Regards Craig

I have had this happen in windows operating system. It was caused by a corrupt user profile. You can try control panel users accounts. Try modifying the user account type like changing the permissions and windows should re save the user profile . then change it back to what it was. or look at https://neosmart.net/wiki/corrupt-user-profile/
