How I can install HP Support Assistant in Windows?

I am assuming you are wanting install this on a HP machine, so all you should need to do, is go to the HP website if you use the machine you want to install it on, the web site should be able to detect, your make and model, and if any software is missing it will direct you to the page where you can download the software, and install it in the same way you install any other application in windows.

HP Pavilion Elite m9152p Desktop PC start and one second it turn off

Probably too late for anyone to benefit from, but use the jumpers on the motherboard to reset CMOS. That's what worked for me.

HP zd8000 laptop power supply

I found the solution - and implemented it, it works. The blue (ID) line needs to show 7.5v. The simple way to acheive this is to simply put a 47k resistor from the +19.5v line to the ID line. Apparently there is a pull down at the computer end that means it ends up at 7.5v.

I cut the cable about 6" from the old HP power supply. I then soldered a female power socket onto the loose cable and soldered the 47k resistor between the ID line and the +19.5 line. I then plugged this onto my two pin power supply and the plugged it into my computer. It works very nicely.

Not wishing to junk the HP power supply unecessarily - it was still producing the 19.5v - I then soldered a power plug onto that ignoring the ID line. That now works as well. It seems that the circuitry that provided the 7.5v ID voltage in the HP power supply became flakey. I could have just opened up the power supply (I have already done that) and disconnected the blue line from the circuit board and just tied it to the +ve line via the 47k resistor and then wrapped it with the usual insulating tape.

Can you reset your computer back to factory setup

1) connect to external monitor to see if it works. If it doesn't work, then its a video card on the motherboard issue. 2) If connect to external monitor works, then its the screen or screen connection on the laptop.

Some of my outgoing mail won't 'send' I just keep

Outlook and Outlook Express both report that error number when they can't find or connect to your mail server.
Understanding what's happening is fairly easy. Fixing requires some additional information.

I'll focus here on Outlook Express, but similar steps are appropriate for Outlook as well.
Typically you'll see an error message much like this:
oemailservererror.png Unfortunately, many people seem to fixate on the error number at the end - 0x800ccc0d. While that can be useful, and it's easy to search on, they're missing all the additional information that Outlook is providing in the error. Specifically, this:
The host 'wrongmailserver.com' could not be found.
That's a big clue as to what's going on. Your email account is configured to retrieve email from the server 'wrongmailserver.com' (a fictitious server I made up for this example), and Outlook Express cannot connect to that mail server.
Step one? Make sure you can connect to anything else on the internet - any web page will do. Error 0x800ccc0d can occur because you're not connected to the internet at all, and visiting any random web page simply verifies that your internet connection is working.
If your internet connection is not working, that has nothing to do with Outlook, Outlook Express or error 0x800ccc0d. Your mail failure is just one symptom of not being connected to the internet.
If you are connected, step 2 is to validate your Outlook Express account configuration. Specifically, if you click on the Tools menu in Outlook Express, then click on the Accounts menu item, and then in the resulting dialog box click on the Mail tab, you should see something like this:
oeaccountsdialog.png "If the Incoming Mail (POP3): setting is wrong, then error 0x800ccc0d can result." If you have more than one account, you may see multiple items in the list. Click on the one with which you are having trouble and click on Properties. In the resulting dialog box, click on the Servers tab and you should see something like this:
oeaccountproperties.png Note the arrows pointing at the two instances of the mail servers you would be using: one for POP3 (incoming email) and one for SMTP (outgoing email).
If the Incoming Mail (POP3): setting is wrong, then error 0x800ccc0d can result. In fact, the error message you got originally, "The host 'wrongmailserver.com' could not be found." is telling you that the mail server specified here could not be contacted.
So, what do you do?
I can't tell you what this setting should be, because it varies from ISP to ISP. What I use is different from what you use. So, you'll need to double check the information you were given from your ISP to see what they said your mail server name should be. Make sure you've entered that exactly. In fact, it probably makes sense to double check your entire configuration while you're here.
It's also possible that your mail server may simply be down - the ISP could be having trouble, for example, or the ISP could have changed mail servers. You'll need to contact your ISP to determine if this is the case, and whether or not they have an alternative mail server you can use, or how long you might need to wait for things to be fixed.

I have an HP Pavilion a6228x and need a hard drive. Any suggestions?

why not upgrade to SSD? for amazing performance no matter what, its just price ,size issue, a vast sea of SATA drive exist and work. desktop it is. sata 320GB HDD when new. you do know that means the OS dead right ,stuffing in any new empty drive? unless the old HDD is good and you clone it to say any SSD (if the OS infected,or corrupted then this cloning is doomed) the only limits are old PCs limit to 2TB MAX. LIMIT. not spam at all any top ssd brand is good. even intels. BUY CRUCIAL SDD. Can I add a WIFI card to my HP Pavillion a400n?

sure you can , you can and wifi to any PC so long as not running XP or VISTA. new wifi card do not support XP. this is a relic PC, from long ago. posting and not telling the helper what OS you run is just a waste of time or worse we must answer for 5 different OS more more. old old has no express slots. 15 years old today HP Pavilion a400n XP loaded , relic. if still XP where would you get a wifi PCI non express card in year 2019, IDK, good luck there, but you can in fact add a USB wifi dongle. but would have to be very old say 2004 to 2010 made or will not support XP new USB dongles for WIFI do not support XP, Okay? posting with no OS stated, is just a ****** waste of time. and is a endless problem here., this PC is end of life trash it and get a PC 2010 or newer. and win. with w7 or newer on it. (coa sticker on case is the clue) spend $40 go whole hog. nice how lifehacker seems to not know what XP is.,? nor what PCI over PCI-express is. sad. no?
