How do I get the hood off of a Hoover SteamVac without breaking anything? I had one answer but a key word was replaced with *s and made it indecipherable.
To clean the brushes on a Hoover SteamVac without breaking anything, follow these steps:
- Turn off the SteamVac and unplug it from the electrical outlet.
- Locate the brushes: they are usually located under the unit near the front or in the back.
- Remove any debris or foreign objects from around the brushes.
- Use a small brush or toothbrush to gently clean the brushes of any dirt or debris. Be careful not to bend or break the brushes.
- Replace the brushes and reassemble the SteamVac.
- Plug the SteamVac back in and turn it on to test if it is working properly.
If the brushes are damaged or worn out, they may need to be replaced. It is also a good idea to refer to the owner's manual for specific instructions on how to clean and maintain the brushes on your model of Hoover SteamVac.
Hoover linx brush won't turn
The wires from the battery to the brush motor get broken and you have to solder them back together. I just did this. Now it works again. They break in the connector that swivels at the head. If I were doing it again I'd use new wire!
High pitch
Sounds like you have a clog. Make sure the filters are clean, replace if it has been more then a year, check the inlet down by the brush roll, your clog maybe there.
Why aren't the propellars in the dirt cup of My Hoover vacuum not spinning
First of all there are no propellers in any dirt cup of a vacuum cleaner. Some of them use a cyclonic action to keep the dirt in a ball shape for easy empty purposes. As the cup fills, it’s less likely to spin. Regardless, the spinning action has little to do with suction power. Clean the squirrel cage fins and filter would help.
My Hoover smartwash won't dispense water
I have a Hoover smartwash that I've had for about a year. Recently it's been having trouble dispensing water. I've tried unplugging it and plugging it back in, but that doesn't seem to work. I've also tried turning it off and on again, but that hasn't worked either. I'm not sure what to do because I don't want to have to buy a new one already.
Smoke and burning rubber smell
This is common. You need to remove the brush roller completely and untangle hair and threads from around the spindle. The roller should turn very freely. Yours isn't and is causing the drive belt to slip and create the smell.
