Honeywell Water Heaters - Recent Questions, Troubleshooting & Support
I have a riello 40 burner it fires for 2 seconds then cuts out what could be the problem
If it actually fires up and you have a flame for 2 seconds and then it shuts off, I'd bet that the photo cell is either dirty or has failed. If it is dirty, it suggests that the burner has been neglected for some time and probably is in desperate need of a tune up. The photo cell is located under the ignition transformer and is aimed into the combustion chamber to see the light created by the flame from the burning oil.If it is clean, the photocell has likely failed and will need to be replaced. If it still runs the same way after photocell replacement, it is probably related to the primary controller or one of the other safety devices. Is this a forced hot air or hot water system?
