Kind of weird but if you did that the only thing that could be the quality of gasoline fresh and new is the gasoline new

Take the cover off and lub the spring catch wngament wings. Sounds like they are stuck closed.

There shoud be a bolt on either side of starter you be sure to label wires before removing the starter

check for a full fuel flow to the carby indicates a low fuel level possibly float level check that there is a heat insulation block between the head and the carby maybe head heat is tending to boil off the carby fuel if too low a level

I am wondering if your belt has stretched and is slipping. Maybe need a new one.

all i can say is check for spark from coil and if you do check fuel filter and clean carburator

Honda engines have an automatic kill switch if the oil level is low... If the oil level is good and it won't start it will be clear one of the requirements is absent. To start and run, an engine needs compression, timing, the right amount of good, fresh fuel delivered into the combustion chamber and a sufficient spark. Discovering which is absent is a process of elimination only you can work through...

It's under the blower housing and at the other end of the spark plug wire. Gap it somewhere between .012 and .015 off the flywheel

As it's a new machine, check your operators manual it has a trouble shooting guide. But it sounds like the fuel maybe the problem, do not use old fuel as it deteriorates over time.
