Electric starter will not work on honda e u 3000 generator
Hi there! 1) Check battery with a load tester and recharge / replace if necessary 2) Check the ignition switch for loose wires or if the switch is okay 3) Remove the starter and try to run it against a piece of wood ( Have you seen the wooden hammer handle of an auto electrician?) If you can stop it then the motor needs repair/replacement it is often cheaper to replace than repair it excluding labour!! 4) Check ringear on the flywheel and the pinnion of the starter motor for binding and wear. Keep these tips in mind for your Automobiles too
How do I fix a 2006 Honda outboard motor with no spark at the plugs?
Hi there. The tips are generic and may or may not apply! 1)Does it have points with capacitor? It can be burnt or dirty.2) Check the cable feeding the sparkplug loose or cracked? 3) Remove the wires to your kill switch at the engine and try to start if it starts then with your ohm meter check switch working and wires for breaks or short circuits
My 5.5kva Honda generator has no voltage and voltage meter also not showing voltage. What can be wrong?
Hi there I had a similar problem years ago. 1) check brushes on the sliprings of the alternator 2) There is a small pcb on the brush gear and an electrolytic capacitor some diodes etc. check for bad joints or capacitor 3) lift off one brush from sliprings and connect for a couple of seconds a 12 volt battery to it. Why? The rotor must have some residual magnetism for it to develop excitation and sometimes if the genny was not used at all for a long time then that magnetism sometimes die away. It also happen if the genny was disassembled for one reason or another Good luck
I have a very old honda generator 2.8 KVA max
hi
insure the wires from the magneto are not cracked or shaved as this would discharge to earth and the ht lead from the magneto to the plug is not perished as this would create leakage to earth
How to make my black max 8125 generator quieter!?
My friend has one, and after he starts it, he places a small mini shipping crate over it (like the kind you see in photos of cargo ships). Seems like the crate is made of some kind of plastic or fiberglass, and he has a short flexible steel pipe going out of a small hole that is cut out of the bottom of the back side for an exhaust. Seems to squelch the sound fairly well. Good luck.
My generator will run great and then all the
could be a ton of things. water in the gas will separate in the carb and effect it. restrictions in the fuel line/filter is another. I would look there first as it does not appear to be electrical or mechanical.
Honda ES6500 blows 15amp fuse as soon as the key
hi
I think the problem is on when the key is turn to rotate and to engage the starter motor and it at this point that the cable curring the current on to the starter motor it then the fuse gets blown , in my opinion this cable is shortening across the chassis causing the fuse to blow, or when it get to the starter solenoid a faulty solenoid absorbs accessed electric current causing the fuse to blow
Honda generator not producing electrical current
Generators rely on a residual magnetic field to "kick start" the current making process. Yours has lost this field. Easy enough to fix however.
Plug in an electric drill while it's running. Squeeze the trigger and manually twist the end of the drill (this will act as a miniature generator, as the Honda has lost its magnetic permeability and this motor rotating in reverse will generate a small current and restore it). Take care as, as soon as you spin it fast enough to develop a current, the generator will pick up on this current and start generating it's own current; energizing the drill. Once the generator starts generating current, it will repair itself.
How do I stop oil coming out of the exhaust?
If it is a four stoke " no oil mix required " Oil out the exaust can only mean oil is getting past the rings, valve stem seals are worn " if seals should only smoke briefly after start and go away " or oil in the gas...first check for oil in the gas..Should show on the dip stick..if none or you can't detirmine change with new gas..the run for a while any oil residue will burn off and smoke clear..if still smoke..your rings on the piston are wearing out or your piston cylinders may have small scores " scratches " allowing the oil to pass by and into the combustion chamber..Also your spark plugs should be showing oil residue on the tips if oil is being burnt...Easy fix first..buy a can of restore or any good prouduct to help restore the cylinder walls..I use RESTORE BRAND a little expensive but worked very well for me..run a tank of gas through it to give it some time to seal the scratches on the cylinder walls and Pistons..if it works for you add a little with each oil add/or change....if this does not do it..sorry but a rebuild is needed.. and Good luck..
