We have an Hitachi 1080. An hour ago the colours changed to purple and green. In using the color adjustments we changed it to b&w, but now we can't get any color at all. Model 42PD960DTA.

To some model sets; especially LED back-lighted types; the back-light inverter circuit will be part of the main power supply board [SMPS]. In such cases, the power supply board might need replacement. To some models sets, the back-light inverter and SMPS section circuit will be integrated at its main board itself. Flashing red light for lamp
There could be several causes for this. Does the cooling fan come on, it may be defective. There could be something blocking the heat sensor. Is it possible the connector didn't get fully attached when you installed the new lamp?
Purple projection
Sounds like you may have a bad cable. I see this a lot where I work.
Won't start

It could be the carbon brushes that you need to change?
Check the carbon brushes.
Use a wooden pallet to hit around the motor area and on the machine see if it can start.
