The easiest way is to take an air compressor and blow out the dust internally first through all of the vents. Then just take a damp cloth with a water/soap mix or some cleaning product that can be used on the plastic and just wipe down the outside. I recommend using the air compressor outside. If you don't have an air compressor available to you, then the cans of compressed air will work too.

Alot depends on the type of hose. There are plastic hoses and rubber hoses. Generally you can use a smaller plastic connector to connect two rubber hoses together and visa versa, Make sure it is a snug fix. You could also use an adhesive to keep it together.
