Two brand new Hitachi BSL1815X
These batteries have big problems that Hitachi doesn't address very well. Unlike NiCad batteries, Lith-Ion ones must be periodically used and recharged to retain their battery functions, i.e. if they have been sitting on the shelf at a store for an extended period of time, chances are they will be dead when bought and will not accept a charge. If they go dead i.e. no little red light on the charger when you plug the battery unit in...it's basically junk.
If you can return them or exercise the warranty do so. If / when you get new ones DO NOT completely discharge them like you would NiCads. Lith-Ion batteries do not have the "battery memory" issues that NiCads have which means you don't lose running time if you don't fully discharge the battery unit prior to recharge. Completely discharging before recharge will ultimately kill them. Use the 1815X till almost dead and then charge it. It is also recommended Lith-Ion batteries not be stored fully charged i.e. charge the 1815X fully, drive a couple bolts or screws, remove the battery unit and then put it away. Do not leave battery unit plugged into the tool when you put the tool away. This will discharge and kill the battery unit.
There are non-Hitachi substitute batteries now on the market. I'm guessing the same precautions apply but I don't own one of the replacements so I don't truly know.
The actual batteries in the Hitachi BSL 1815X are Sanyo UR18650SAX lithium ion batteries. Lithium Ion cells aren't all that easy to get commercially because of handling & safety requirements. Not certain if you can take apart the 1815X and swap out the bad Sanyo cells.
Hitachi ACE follow me red filter light is always on
the red light turns on automatically after 120 hrs of running to remind us for cleaning the filters. once you cleaned the filters and inserted back , then just keep ac in stand by mode, open the remote panel and press the button on extreme right bottom of the remote ( see carefully in the remote, there is very light image of the filter is made along with the button). red light will go off. no need to press the reset button.... enjoy
Hitachi rear proj tv Channel Manager says " This Function is not available". How do I do a channel rescan?
First make sure that the current Source or Input is set to TV. This is usually the only reason for the error message you see. To select the source, look for a Source or Input button on the original remote. If you have an universal remote with a button with the Source/Input label, you may need to try alternative codes to make the button work. (Power and channel controls will often match across multiple codes for the TV manufacturer.) Alternatively, check if there is a Source/Input button on the TV or a section of the menu system with the function. Once you set this source, try again.
Note: there was a period when manufacturers sold some TVs without tuners. They were labeled HD-ready sets. These can't do a channel scan and do not have an RF antenna jack on the set.
I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the model number of your Hitachi TV for more information on setting the source on your set.

I need to know how to hook my DVD player to ,y
look on the back of the television and the DVD player, there should be a SCART socket and/or red, white and yellow AV sockets, either use a SCART lead and connect it to the SCART on the DVD player and the TV.Or use an AV lead with 3 auxiliary shape connectors and match the colour of each connector with the female sockets on both the TV and the DVD player instead of using the other component connections.

Try Ritchie street near the Bata Shoe Shop on Anna Salai road after the LIC stop.
If you have a catalog or picture of the TV go with it and show it around some of the TV shops they might show interest or arrange a buyer for you.Ask some of the many repair shops too - they are on the look out for spares.
