My saw is a different brand, but most are very similar. There is a tensioning knob right in the front, middle of the base. It is designed to allow drag on the slide, so that the saw won't move too quickly over the work piece, and can be adjusted (a turn or 2) to make it slide easily, or to lock it in place with no movement at all. A little lube is ok, but try not to use much or it will start to get on your project pieces, and the piece you're cutting won't accept stain or paint well.

There are many possibilities. contaminated fuel, wrong fuel oil mixture. air leak in fuel line, carburetor contaminated, or needs adjustment, choke problems, throttle problems. Try a small engine mechanic.

Only checking the circuit with a multimeter will find the fault and that means the saw will need at least partially dismantling. Internal breaks in the power cord is a common problem with tools and appliances and is a good place to begin...

First, you have to determine how it is attached usually they are screwed or bolted into place or simply held into place by clips or pressure. But there are many different models so please post the model of your machine so it can be identified or even a photo.
