Manual for replacing lamp for 60v500a
1. Turn off the main power switch and unplug the power cord. Wait at least 30 minutes to allow the lamp to cool down beforereplacing it.2. Remove the front cover from the TV set. This is held by a snap on. Pull the front cover outwards until the quick snap ondisengages.3. Remove the screw securing the lamp cover with a Phillips head screw driver. Remove the lamp cover.4. Remove the two screws that hold the lamp in place. Remove the lamp unit by holding the lamp handle, then pulling outwards.Exercise caution when removing the lamp unit to avoid injury to your fingers.5. Replace with the new lamp.Place the removed lamp into the empty box of the replacement lamp. Do not touch the front glass of the new lamp or itsreceptacle. This may shorten the life of the lamp and reduce the picture quality.• Push the lamp unit back to its original position.• Tighten the screws firmly on the lamp unit. If they are loose, the TV may not operate correctly.6. Without installing the lamp cover, the power will be off and the Lamp Indicator will flash. Be sure to install the lampcover by re-engaging the two clips and tighten the screws before turning the power on, otherwise it may cause unusual colors.7. Install the front cover. Put the front cover back in and align the snap on quick connect then push inwards holdingthe left and right side of the front cover until you hear a snap. Push the other snap on gently to make a good fit.8. Plug power cord into AC outlet and turn on the main power switch.NOTE: The lamp in this product contains Mercury. Dispose of properly in accordance with applicable environmentallaws. It says to Check the
Open the cover. At some ends there will be 'filters', to clean the air entering the projector. If these filters are blocked with dust or lint, air flow will be blocked.
Clean any dust from these filters. Close the cover and check whether your problem is solved.
The light shines yellow on
If the yellow area is mainly in the centre and not a well defined spot, then it's most likely the blue polariser plate that has been overheated by the white light over much use.

My projector is coming up
Which lights are red, Power, lamp or temperature?
Does the menu not come up at all. What about the startup logo etc.
I'm assuming the lamp has not exceeded 2000hrs useage, when it will shut off automatically.

i didn't know mac needed drivers for projectors.... windows just connects right away

I didn't find drivers for any Hitachi projectors
you might wanna get the conversion thingy for the mac input tho, if you don't already have it
and if you do you might wanna get another one, cuz some don't work correctly which might be the case

How do I clean the filter of the Hitachi CP-X1200
Remove and use fine bristle brushes assisted with a jet of air which will clean up the fine netting of the filter. It is important that the filters are occassionally cleaned so that there is no dirt accumulation within the lens unit that can reduce the life of the LAMP and save an expensive repair.
Power and lamp light are
I am guessing that you do not get a image at start up with the Hitachi logo or any image at all. If it is not blinking red and your getting a steady green when the lamp is on it should work but somtimes the ballast in some projectors are weaker than others so it may not be able to fire up a bulb with high hours on it. Sometimes the really obvious things are overlooked like lens caps etc. You might hold your hand right infront of the lense to see if any light is being projected.

I have a large yellow
Sorry, your lcd on the Blue has burned, spare parts mean replacing the main optic combiner and lcd module that is more expensive than the projector is worth. it is dead, I have several similarly dead units.
