The projector was used last
Is the bulb any good? If it has filament it can be tested with ohm meter. If no filament there will be a high energy ballast that feeds the bulb - that could be the culprit also.

The cooling fan can be lubricated by peeling off the round label. If the motor shaft can be seen, use a drop of sewing machine oil on the shaft. If you can't see the shaft, there is a rubber plug covering it. Use something sharp to remove it then put a drop of oil on it. This is not a permanent fix, so order a new fan and replace it when you get it.
No display from composite video input
Composite video are yellow RCA jacks and are made for analog signals of standard definition video. If you are connecting a digital source or a high definition output, it may be beyond the capabilities of the projector. You may be able to find a VGA to composite adapter if you laptop or whatever has a VGA output port. VGA is along the same lines of composite (analog, standard definition).
