Need a Driver
the monitor doesn't need a driver, you are most likely missing display adapter drivers from your computer or can you explain why do you need a driver for your monitor? I've never installed drivers for my monitors in the last 10 years.

The task bar along the bottom of the screen, I can't see it
Adjust controls on the monitor. There a double box that lays on top of the other. Adjust that option... You may also want to adjust the setting that shows a box with arrows pointing up and down. adjust it as well.. Experiment on the settings. You'll get it right.

Connecting PC to television
Hi and welcome to FixYa,
Initially, try the lowest possible Screen Resolution in the PC's Display Properties. You could also try lowering the Screen refresh Rates. This is especially so if the PC connects to the TV using composite (yellow) video out or S-Video. In some video cards/settings, it may be necessary to enable twin/dual view in the display properties.
Good luck and Thank you for using FixYa. Happy New Year.

My moniter is a CM 2111MU
The invalid sync indicates there is no video signal getting to the monitor. Have you checked the connections and video driver card? IF you haven't, you might try a different monitor on the video card to verify that the cabling and card are okay. If both test out as good, the next step would be to remove the cover and check the monitor's connector but that has to be done very carefully with the unit off and given time for voltages to neutralize inside. Even then there might be lethal voltages on capacitors...if you're not experienced, this would be something I'd turn over to someone who is.
Hope this helps.

Bright, thin line, in the middle of the screen, then...
1.
I turn on the monitor, I hear a 'cracklin' sound
Reply: In a CRT Monitor there is a component called EHT which generates High voltage which is connected to the anode of the CRT, If there is any leakage due to moisture can cause this crackiling sound, You need to clean this high tension wire or replace the EHT ( CAUTION : BE AWARE OF HIGH VOLTAGES )
2.
The screen only shows a bright, thin line.
Reply: The vertical Drive section of the monitor is faulty.

My Hitachi XL500 external hard drive is not showing anywhere on my computer. I also do not believe any power is getting through to my hard drive. Please help
buried in endless spam are you.
does it fail on 2nd PC????????????????????????????
but yes, I am the MVP of external HDD< I build my own.
Have over 5 here for Backups .
lots of causes, for sure bad drive, or missing drivers..
bad HW hardware or BAD software SW.
Missing 12vdc 2amp power pack>, lost or using wrong one.
when pack above does the HDD spin? usb connected to PC.
NO PC stated, NO OS stated, windows/chrome/Linux/android?
its at lease 10 years old , see posts back that far.
not good old HDD,this old.
sold during W7 era. 2009.
The drive has 3.5" HDD that needs lots of power (Amps)
to start up that big motor inside, and is first thing to learn .
2amps it needs, ok? so if pack is missing it will never startup
on any USB port, not rated for 20x standard USB load factors.
some laptops only do 0.1amps (100mA) and are useless to startup any hdd motor of any kind.
see why here.
and see a better extremal solution cheap.! $10
