Hitachi backup saysproblem in windows 7 due to bit locker
You will always have problems to backup encripted drives, unless the backup software specifically supports the encryption software.
Usually you can to try to "mount" the drive as a unencrypted drive and run the backup on that drive.
Alternatively, use HD partition backup software (ex: DriveSnapshot, EaseUS, Paragon, etc...).

Im trying to recovery my music in my hitachi tb, but usb doesnt recognize the device, help
If you PC does not see the drive (assuming the PC has all the required USB drivers), then, 1 check and or subsitute the USB cable. 2. check the power supply/wall wart for correct power. 3. check the USB plug on the PC, try a different one if equiped. 4. the USB interface card in the external case may be toast. You will need to check or sub the interface to ensure that's not the issue. 5. place the drive in a different case with a different USB interface.

Repair broken
Easy, just hook up old drive as secondary and new drive as primary. Copy what you need from the secondary onto the primary. When you are done, just disconnect the secondary drive and enjoy your new one.

Beeping hard drive ?
Beeping or chirping?
Check it in a PC if you can. If its more of a chirp than a beep your HDD inside likely failed.

How do i transfer data from hard drive if it is vroken
Hi, if you can hear the drive spinning up but then making a clicking noise this means the heads have failed, this would need to be opened up (ideally in a clean room), if the platters are okay you can replace the heads... but if your data is precious to you I would reccomend sending it to a data recovery company Digital Recovery (www.digitalrecovery.co.nz) are fairly good.

USB DEVICE NOT RECOGNISED - MALFUNCTION
Problem may simply be with USB cable used. Try another cable, preferably a known good cable.
Problem may be with the socket on the device itself where the USB cable fits in. Try (with known good cable) on a flat surface with the both the device and the cable resting on the surface - i.e cable should not hang down and put weight on the socket.
Hope that fixes it.
Further advice. Even if problem seems fixed, immediately back up the drive if you can!

How to play videos
Don't worry, you are not doing anything wrong. There are two ways you can view the videos:
1. Select the video you want to watch and press
space
2. Download the free VideoLAN player from it's official website:
http://www.videolan.org/index.html
After installing it, right click on your video and choose
Open with and then
VLC.app
Let me know if this solution helped you fix the problem or if you need any additional assistance.
SAYS HITACHI DRIVE IS FULL
Maybe... you need to free up.... space..? (Sorry, could not resist...)
That is, try to delete files or empty the virtual Trash Bin. If you are certain that there should be enough free space, try a filesystem check. In windows, open the windows explorer (NOT internet-explorer), right-click on the drive-letter, choose properties->tools. There is something like "check for errors". (this depends on version and language of the OS).
I had a program that couldn't cope with too much free space. Almost filling up the drive with some random files made the program work. Ok, this was 20 years ago.
